Sharing information and discussing possible and current responses by organizations and institutions isn’t spreading panic or inciting hysteria. You’ve made your point in this thread. No need to continue.

Not as absurd as you posting the same thing in here over and over and over and over and over...

Asymptomatic and mild/sub-clinical are vastly underrepresented everywhere. This Japanese paper based on 565 Japanese evacuees from Wuhan pegs asymptomatic at 41.6%.
Thanks for posting this article. I’m glad to see this. The only possibly problem with the study is low power.
There was only 12 positive cases
5 without symptoms
7 with symptoms
But I do like how they wait 14 days for anyone to develop symptoms. Overall very positive. I wish they would have given more information about those who tested positive and those who didn’t.
Hopefully, we see larger studies to really nail down the asymptomatic cases. This still does not alleviate the potential problems this virus could create, but it certainly helps.

When people spout off the possible outcomes as a million Americans as dying (Penrod), then someone has to be a voice of reason.
The flu is also a pandemic. A yearly one. But now I’m watching on ESPN someone stress covid19’s seriousness saying it must be a big deal because it’s a pandemic. That’s not the threshold for panic and canceling everything. Neither is what this really is.

No one on this board is in charge of cancelling anything. It’s just discussion about new info - not all of that info will be correct. Most people don’t believe millions will die and most discussion is about preventing the spread, or Flatten the Curve, which is what is being promoted by state and federal agencies thus the cancellations.
Unless you work in a State Health Department or CDC, you are no more qualified than anyone else in this thread. You’ve made your point and preaching about closing and cancellations here is the wrong audience

I will keep posting it too. The mass hysteria being pushed in this thread is dangerous

What mass hysteria? Discussing closures? Discussing new cases? I haven’t seen any posts in this thread inciting mass hysteria.

For someone who is 20 years old and has never left Baton Rouge in their life this may not seem like a big deal, i get it. When LSU baseball gets postponed or cancelled it may hit home for you.

The other issue, that may explain the Japanese data vs. the Chinese “few true asymptomatic” case data - The Japanese working in Wuhan were those healthy enough to get work visas. China also limits work visas for candidates over 60 (a coworker of mine needed a special visa), so this is looking at a working class crowd of healthy adults and their families.
