It was bad journalism not knowing the significance of those words.

It’s NOT a new strain of Wuhan-2019 novel virus. It’s the same as what’s passing in China ATM

Ok. So there's absolutely no treatment for this? So there's nothing the doctors can do?

God people are so fricking stupid. There ought to be a minimum IQ test to breathe in this country.

I guess if the government won’t pull the trigger the airlines will. Don’t blame them.

For a vaccine yes. That doesn't mean there isn't any treatment; plenty of ways to treat a disease than just a vaccination.

Like what? There is no cure for a viral illness. There is nothing to kill like a bacterial infection

“Treatment” is just management of symptoms until the virus runs it’s course

Treat symptoms and provide organ support as necessary. That's not treating the disease, that's keeping the body functioning while the hoping the patient's immune system fights the virus off.

BNO added 86 confirmed cases outside of Wuhan this morning bring the total to 6,152.

Singapore reported 3 new cases and France has the first patient in serious condition outside of China

Something seems to not be adding up. It would seem like the infection rate in China would have to be higher for the virus to be showing up just about anywhere that has travelers from China. At least for now, the good thing is that it doesn't appear to be spreading as rapidly outside of China.

I don't doubt that at all but until WHO can get in there for a few days, any attempt at using different numbers is just speculation.

Not to mention you can get the Virus for up to 14 days and not have any symptoms

That's the big thing I've been worried about. With the contagion level of this thing (last estimates I heard were ~2) you have to look at everyone who came out of China in the past month, everyone they've interacted with and everyone those people have interacted with. We're talking it could easily already be upwards of 5% of the total population in major hubs (NYC, LA, Paris, London, Rome, Cairo, etc).

And then there's the whole freight aspect. How long does it live outside a host because we get a metric frickton of goods from China every day and any of those items (or all) could contain the infection (if it lives outside of a host long enough).

We have no idea how contagious it is, but at least all indications outside of China show no deaths yet, As an American, I haven’t seen anything that has worried me.

The population density and severe poverty and lack of hygiene in central China can’t be underestimated in driving its rapid spread there.
