This. St. George peeps tried many different avenues to get what they wanted without incorporating. They extended olive branch after olive branch and were told to pound sand. Incorporation is happening, and the only thing holding it back is partisan pettiness as they panic to protect the money they have been stealing from the folks in St. George. They would have gotten off so much cheaper had they taken the olive branch offered after the previous petition failed.

Exactly. There were avenues to achieve what that population was asking for without incorporating. Unfortunately, Senator Broome was a huge obstacle in every avenue that the population proposed. So they chose to incorporate. YET, you admitted you voted for Broome. So you voted for the person who heavily contributed to where we are today in the first place. So Piazza is either plain dumb or being backed by Team Broome, the answer is probably both.

According to their Mom (J), things started to get tense when he brought Peter Sclafani (former head chef at Ruffino's) in as a partner.

Why did Jordan get all mad about Sclafani? Did it cut his pay?

He got it right Damone. Piazza is vehemently opposed to SG (as are you)

This from the April 13, 2020 Baton Rouge Business Report:

quote:

Local restaurateur Jordan Piazza, who was planning to officially announce his campaign in March, now says he is rethinking a run altogether.

“There are so many unknowns it’s tough to say,” he says. “I’m still eager to help Baton Rouge and get involved, particularly with the battle against St. George

Piazza does seem to be the same sort of sniveling sleezebag who owns a bar instead of having a real job. At least Delgado had experience in metro council

Any candidate who answers anything other than it is bad for EBR is not electable. None of them can actually stop it. At worst, they can delay temporarily and SWB is the most likely to continue that charade. I hope St George folk keep that in mind and don't skip the vote over something that is totally irrelevant.

Carter backed the original SE Baton Rouge ISD bills in the legislature, and then later voted in favor of the 1st SG transition bill before leaving office.

dude may not be a career politician but he can certainly talk a lot without saying anything of substance like one

I mean besides your plan to strong arm Rouses into putting a store in NBR by withholding permits

NBR can’t really support a Shopper’s Value from what I’m seeing and that has to be one of the crappiest supermarket brands I’ve had the misfortune to shop at.

that's why the logic is so flawed when it comes to that. Do we think there's no grocery stores worth a frick in the area because:
A. There's tons of money to be made but grocers are just racist.
or
B. Numerous attempts have failed and proven its not a worthwhile endeavor for them?

Its one thing to say you'd incentivize a business to open there but his plan is something else entirely

Marcelle will likely not go after Broome too hard, though, and instead focus her efforts on tanking Wicker. Wicker has bucked the black democrats on the counsel on several issues, and Marcelle will likely try to paint her as an uncle tom. Marcelle is likely in the race to run the dirty attacks on Wicker to weaken her while Broome keeps her hands clean and continues to look like the adult in the room. Funding a clown like Piazza to do the same to Watson and weaken her most likely runoff opposition just seems to make far too much sense.

I agree with you completely.

And look, if that's your "plan", cool. I completely disagree, but that's your right and mine. But don't start the same interview off by saying you are "conservative" because strongarming businesses and telling them what they can and cannot do is not conservative in the least bit.

So, you said you are "conservative" only to appeal to the Republican base. Politicians gonna politic. But also in the same interview, you said you aren't going to pander and say things people want to hear just to get their vote.......yet that's what you are doing in the interview.

If Piazza somehow eliminates Watson, he is going to get absolutely ripped to smitherines by SWB and Marcelle. He has zero chance and the sooner Republicans see that, the better.

I wonder if he's able to work his past employers Todd Graves and the Walk On's crew for their financial backing or if they think differently of Piazza.

Any candidate that answers something other than the people have spoken and it’s time to move on. My intention is to serve the entire parish as Mayor-President as best I can and fulfill my duties as the law provides.
And certainly SG folks need to vote, the Mayor-President impacts SG too. Ousting Broome makes her law suit moot.

All you have to do is watch his YouTube interview to realize he’s a democrat. Maybe he’s too dumb to realize it?

1. Votes for Obama, SWB, Kipp

2. Thinks the city should tell property owners (slum lords) how to run their property.

3. Thinks the whites abandoned NBR and it’s their fault the blacks in NBR have bad conditions. And SBR whites need to give money to NBR blacks.

This. NBR is the Shoppers Value demographic. They closed Several of those stores for a simple reason, they were not profitable.
