I can remember something my mother would tell my brother and I when we saw police eating in restaurants. She told us the police were our friends and protected us from bad people. She would make us wave and say hello to them. The Police seemed to like having little kids being friendly to them. ya know it's funny. Everyoen I know that was brought up in a law enforcement family, or a family like yours that was taught that police are the good guys and to wave and seek them out if you need help and that they're on our side....have generally avoided any legal trouble in adulthood and are typically well adjusted people.

The ones that grew up in "frick the popo" households that were taught that cops are bastards only looking to frick you up and you should avoid them at all costs because they're the enemy....have generally found themselves in legal trouble and are usually a complete shitshow as adults.

Odd how that works out isn't it...
