Also what happens when you pay cops a complete shite salary like DPD.
So the answer to this is to give these killers more money?
Not buying it, at all.

If that’s really how it happened, then WTFFFFFFF???

The only nonrelevant part of that story is that she was black.
Standing next to your window while some random person goes through your back yard is not a reasonable threat to the person outside.
Of course what is reasonable or not differs depending on who is wearing the badge.

There's a philosophical problem at the root of this incident and many other bad things that happen in this country.
People think their personal safety is not just an absolute good, but the most important thing in the world.
"I feared for my life, so I did X, Y, and Z."
How often are X, Y, and Z much worse than your mere absence from the planet might have been? Most of the damn time, in my experience.
Someone said it in that thread about the UGA fan assclown yesterday: NARCISSISM.

The bodycam footage leaves nothing in question.
Send him away for a long time.
There has to be accountability.

If that was the case why didn’t mr. smith check on her? Unless he’s bed bound or physically unable
People need to mind their own business.

That dude was skittish as frick. Absolutely no business being a cop and a long jail sentence should ensure that.
Posted on 10/13/19 at 8:37 am to Obtuse1
Holy shite that's bad and easily murder.
Cops sneaking around, sneaking into the back yard, and then sending bullets through the window, for a fricking welfare check. How about knock and "Mrs her name, Dallas PD stopping by to check in on you"
They were acting like criminals. If somebody was sneaking around by my bedroom window with a flashlight like that I would suspect criminals and they'd have a rifle aimed at them. Horrible horrible police work.

Sent out on a welfare check and the cop murders the resident. Cut and dried, open and shut, hang that cocksucker.

Yea that cop needs to be charged with murder. You can’t just do shite like that.

Here in DFW, it’s common for police to respond to home alarms that are triggered when the wind blows a door open. Some suburbs require a fee from the homeowners to help defray the cost of sending an officer out for a false alarm. This false alarm scenario happened to a family that I know just this past Friday.
Like another poster said, the weather would make it common for people to open doors and windows. The police should have been aware of that. The one thing that could have contributed to the officer being afraid was the dispatch call. I don’t know how the dispatcher framed the neighbor’s call. But even that’s a long shot.

Yeah let’s not blame the cop here. Definitely not his fault.

fricking drama queen. Do you know how many officers work 10-20-30 year careers and respond to thousands of incidents and interact with countless people and never fire a shot? They never have to be disciplined for on duty conduct. Better yet they do their job with integrity, honor and compassion and take pride in helping others and serving their communities.
Is it really fair melt so hard over one rookie officer making a horrific mistake. While I agree he should be held accountable, bashing the whole profession is a little extreme

Whatever editor allowed this sentence should be fired on the spot.
Why? It was most likely what the editor wanted. Can't gin up sales if you aren't ginning up racial tensions.

A) horribly written
B) uselessly creates racial tension

That is horrible. People should look out for their neighbors.
House was a mess. Looks like it had been ransacked. I can understand being on edge. But shooting blind into a dwelling is more than careless. Could have been kids or other people in the room. Outrage is justified..

A mistake? This dude murdered someone in their own home, that is not a mistake, and it keeps happening over and over. After the Dallas PD testimony in the Guyger case that she did nothing wrong, I would say YES, this is showing to be an issue with police attitude and ego. This guy wanted to shoot, he had cover everywhere, yet he announced and immediately shot into someone's home. Put this MFer in prison. It's not an easy job, I give nothing but respect for that but fuuuuuuuck, you can't just keep allowing this shite to happen.
