Except the pretense of breaking and entering.

But still how do you shoot through a window? Never shoot at something you cannot clearly identify. One of the first rules I was ever taught about guns

No excuse for it at all.

A cop just got off in Greenville SC recently for shooting into a home from the outside and wounding a completely innocent person.

shite like this just makes people hesitant to call the police.

No intelligent person should ever want to have to deal with a cop for any reason. No good can come of it.

And most of you idiots didn’t worry when the police started militarizing themselves. Funny what starts to happen when you get that mentality.

I'm guessing between the 2 of us, I'm probably the only one who has had the police point an AR or better at them. All over 9 flowering plants and a dozen clones Had the entire organized crime task force in my home. They aren't lightly armed or shy in numbers.

The officer resigned.

He was going to be fired but resigned before the Chief could fire him.

Was allowed to quit instead of being fired. Recent comments from the chief. The Texas rangers have so far declined the case. Probably for the best, head investigator from the guyger trial wanted to testify he thought no crime had been committed.

The officer, identified as Aaron Dean, would have been fired for violations of the department’s policies on use of force, de-escalation and unprofessional conduct had he not resigned on his own, Fort Worth Police Chief Ed Kraus said in a news conference.

The officer “still faces criminal charges” stemming from the investigation into the late-night shooting, Kraus said. The department has also asked the FBI to review Dean’s actions for possible civil rights violations, according to the chief.

Y’all didn’t hear the news today? Warrant for the cop’s arrest said the woman’s nephew said she got her gun out of her purse and raised it and that’s when the cop shot her.

Doesn’t necessarily justify or excuse it, but it’s relevant to consider.

I blame the neighbor for calling 911 over their front door being open. Mind your own damn business!

I thought they said he called the non-emergency line for a wellness check. That seems reasonable for a door being open and unattended in the middle of the night in a society where you can trust the cops... which one would hope we live in, even though we don't.

It's really not. I don't care that he's a police officer, if you're skulking around someone's property gun drawn in the dead of night when you should be announcing yourself, you deserve to get shot and you sure as hell don't get to shoot the property owner.

Well the neighbor shouldn't have called anything.

The neighbor did absolutely nothing wrong. This incident rests solely on the cop's shoulders, and theirs alone.

"Perceived threat" cited as justification for deadly force, but no mention of any weapon as part of said perceived threat. Gun found on bed next to dead woman only after they entered the house.

It was definitely under a pillow case or in a drawer and they put it out in the open. Wouldn’t be surprised at all.

frick the police.

Whoa whoa take it easy. Let us instead say frick the admissions standards that allowed this dumbass to become a cop to begin with.

How are cops NOT thinking about these incidents after all that happened in Dallas just before that POS Gavin Long did what he did?

Oh and frick that piece of turd who calls himself Reverend Jeff Hood. He started all that rioting.

Dallas...you gotta do better. Ya gotta hire better.

Im really not sure why some of you still seem to think Dallas and Fort Worth are the same city. Fort Worth is just over 30 miles from Dallas.

Apparently sharing an airport means sharing a police force.

It’s also Tacoma’s fault that people are shitting all over the streets of Seattle.

So apparently there is now a new wrinkle to this story. The neighbor called the police to report that the victim’s doors were open and he wanted the police to go check on her. Normally referred to as a “welfare check”. However, when the call taker dispatched the call out they reported it as an “open structure” or “open door” call. Apparently this changes the mindset of the officers responding to a more likely case of a robbery in progress situation.

Having said that, I still think he handled the situation completely wrong and still deserved to be charged. But it looks like his defense team now has an argument to make.
