Fort Pike is closed to the public but you can make an appointment. My kids love the mystery museum.

After 50 hears spent locally, I still thoroughly enjoy visits to all the same local spots - Chalmette Battlefield, Fort Pike, and the nature trails at Jean Lafitte National Park in Barataria. They just never get old for me. I can't believe I've never been on a plantation home tour though. I love that kind of thing and every year we say we're going to do it when the weather is nice, and before you know it it's 95 degees outside and we're saying "next year" again.
