I still give spies credit no matter what. It takes some balls to be a spy.

My buddy James Henry disagrees, as does his wife

Not the ones spying on us.

I’m friends with the first couple spies in the USSR. They were and are married in real life and were our first deep cover spies in the Soviet Union.

I can’t imagine the stress they lived with spying back then.

Watch the movie “Breach” for a dramatic depiction of how they caught him

He was either a good spy or we have abysmal counter intelligence operations.

A little of both. FBI was convinced the leaks were from the CIA. They caught Aldrich Ames, and thought he was responsible for everything. Ames was CIA and driven by greed

Hanssen was an oddball genius. He largely did it for the rush, and to prove how smart he was. He ran his own fiefdom in the back rooms of the FBI, but was pissed when passed over for promotions.

I was just listening to a podcast about him yesterday actually. I was wondering how long he would hang on after being in Supermax for over 20 years now. He could've been in a ligher facility if he he just gave them more info about why he did it, but he didn't and they put him out there.

It’s inhumane, but I don’t have a problem with people like him being there. They are obviously not trying to rehabilitate anyone there.

Just going to bring up the fact that Hillary Clinton had a damned server in her bathroom, and “inadvertently” allowed the Chicoms access to it, with actual mortal harm to our intelligence assets.

There’s also Harold Nicholson, who is the highest ranking CIA officer to be convicted of espionage. He passed classified information to the Russians. He will be getting out later this year, though.

I lived a block away from John Walker when he was caught in the 80s. The black suits came in and dismantled his house even digging up the entire yard looking for stuff.

John Walker probably did more damage. They both deserve whatever is coming to them

It's debatable but IMO he's 1b at best. Aldrich Ames had several US spies killed in the USSR after giving their names to his handlers. The Hanssen areest happened after Ames and was caught because he no longer had Ames to use as a shield. There's a few movies from the mid 00s that are loosely based on them.

Yeah the Clintons have always been traitors. So are there voters as far as I’m concerned.
