I'll admit that, from an outsider's perspective, I can't really know that they think. From this perspective, though, it seems as they have already been compromised, as it is far and away the most lucrative business in Mexico, and all due to the narcotics consumption of Americans.

It may be too late, though. Sinaloa's been operating since about 1990, so they've had almost 3 decades to embed themselves. Escobar had only 16 years to entrench before he was killed and it took a stroke of luck and immense effort to get to him. I wonder if it can be done, especially with Mexican troops who may have Sinaloan claws already sunk in them.

we have made the cartel what they are because we are their market. you dont beat the cartel until you start making it next to impossible to bring their drugs into the country. but im not really sure how you do that

Nah, that just drives the price up and people will still buy it. The cartels will find a way to send drugs as long as they make money doing it.
Bottom out the price. Make it more lucrative for them to use their trucks to ship grain across the border and you break the cartels. You can't solve it by trying to eliminate supply because it's so lucrative that someone is more than willing and ready to come behind the guy you killed/arrested and pick up where that guy left off.

A vacuum of power always leads to this, throughout history.
It almost seems preferable to have one mega cartel seize total power, then bargain and deal with them. A strongman you can deal with is better than dozens vying for power and territory.
Of course eventually they become the enemy, if history is any indicator.
I don’t know what the solution is other than keeping them at bay and meeting any incursion with swift and furious retribution

It will take one of two things to beat them.
1) Money- Pay elite Mexican millitary enough they can't be bribed. I am talking make each soldier rich and their sole purpose is to crush the cartels.
2) Give the USA a green light to come in there frick shite up.
#2 assumes the U.S. actually wants it cleaned up. It could be that the CIA actually supports this shite for all we know.

Apparently the cartels buy weapons from the military by the cargo container.
Just obscene amounts of military armaments.
And who supplies the Mexican military? (I legitimately don’t know.)

If anyone here thinks that Langley doesn't make money off the books from drug smuggling, they ought to be tested for retardation. It isn't *undeniable*, but anyone who knows someone beyond a local distributor can tell you that the feds take their cut and will protect those in compliance.

I watched them hack off a guy's hands and feet. The guy was crawling around on his nubs. They grabbed his hair to cut his throat he tried to use the end of his arms to keep them from cutting his throat to no avail. It was horrific and it broke me of watching cartel videos.

Nothing about what you said is any kind of secret. The same type shite on a MUCH larger scale has been happening in China since the 20s and the fricking government is responsible for it. It’s amazing how many people deny that it’s the case. They are up there with holocaust deniers on the intelligence scale.
