I've lived in California, Florida, New Jersey, New York, Chicago, Alabama, Louisiana, and Georgia. Been everywhere for business. But, now have a great job offer in Phoenix. Anyone out there live there now or lived there recently? Please provide some insights. Also, it is a long way to SEC football games. Bah.

Arizona has a lot of attractive people. So if that is part of the consideration.

Spent a lot of time in Tempe, Phoenix, and Scottsdale a few years ago.

I travel a lot for work and I get tired of places pretty quickly, but I always enjoyed Phoenix. Good food scene, relatively nice people, decent airport, reasonable costs of living, close to a lot of nice outdoor activities, and easy to get a nonstop flight to the big west coast cities.

No real complaints other than it was 121 degrees one of the weeks when I was there.

I heard someone say yesterday that it's the 4th (I think) largest city in the US now.

I had no idea it had grown like that

I'm sure it's nice

Do it. It's a great place to live. It gets hot, but it's dry heat. It's really not that bad.

Well, I don't live just anywhere in South Alabama. I live on the coast in a 4,000 sq ft house with a dock, pier, and 100 yards of coastline near Fairhope. So, that is a lot to give up for a desert and a cactus. But, damn, they are offering me a lot of cash.

5th largest

Growth here has been crazy. Housing costs are crazy FYI just like many other places. Not enough housing inventory to keep up with all the people moving here. Many companies have relocated their corporate offices here as well.

I've lived here for 6 years. Which part of Phoenix is your job offer?

Phoenix is a "huge" city, in that it is very spread out.

Where is job based at (west side, east? Tempe? Scottsdale?)?

Traffic on I-10 is a nightmare at times and getting worse cause of population growth

Traffic also gets noticeably worse when the snowbirds arrive for the season

Don’t do it unless you like living on hell’s doorstep during the summer.
