What does normal mean? Like large gatherings with concerts and games? I'm not sure, we already have major festivals canceling that had dates as late as August

why, exactly?

muh testing. glad we've come full circle on this after muh curve flattening and muh ventilators failed
His post was very logical even though it didn't fit your preconceived "liberals love this" narrative. Why respond with this dumb shite?
The entire reopening plan put forth by Trump is predicated on having as accurate of a testing system as possible. So yeah "muh testing" is just about the most important thing at this point.

go to a leftist group/account on social media and try to spread some good news. it's awesome

Makes sense. Liberals always have the doomsday mentality and think every thing is the end of the world. Most conservatives will after a initial shock to a situation say ok let’s go. Roll
Up their sleeves and go to work on the problem.
Liberals want to crawl into corner and cry about who will save them.

The damage has been done and each passing day makes it more difficult. It will be years before this country is back to normal. More people’s lives will be ruined than the number of people dying from this virus.

Do the same on the right and tell them Obama was a natural born citizen.
Facebook groups are the dumbest of the dumb.

this is a major political opportunity for leftists and they're not giving it up easily. they'll probably not get another similar chance for 20+ years

More discord between "conservatives" and "liberals"?

That's because conservatives are vastly more realistic than liberals.
It doesn't give you a little pause that the demographic group most closely aligned to conservatives is 13-17 year olds?
Maybe it makes me liberal, but I'd be surprised if there aren't some Covid resurgences over the next 6-9 months. I certainly hope they're small, but we're a ways from herd immunity and a vaccine.
I do hope future resurgences are easy to contain, and it would be great if we had a reliable treatment emerge.

without a vaccine, the approximate same number of people are going to be infected

The other side doesn't disagree with you.
This is the entire point. If it is going to happen anyway, why are we further sinking the economy? Why wait until July to open up if we pretty much know July won't be any different than now? May as well do it now.
That is what they're saying. And I don't disagree.
The only people who actually have a legitimate argument are the ones all the way to the extreme of being locked down until vaccine/cure emerges. And that isn't possible. So may as well start to slowly open as soon as we can.

If liberals knew what normal was they wouldn’t push such an abnormal agenda.

i don't think ANYONE disagrees and nobody (including about 40 leftists calling me an idiot) has been able to cite data otherwise
regardless, we have WAY TOO FEW cases right now. we need MORE cases. a lot more

Just when I thought I couldn’t hate identity politics any more than I already did, COVID comes along

While these results are largely political, there is an element of geography at play here as well.
People in rural areas tend to be more conservative and people in dense urban areas tend to be more liberal. I don't think anyone denies that this virus has and will affect certain regions differently based on things like population density, public transportation, etc. Eastern burroughs of NYC are getting hammered while I doubt people in Wyoming have even noticed anything different.
