Conservatives Far More Likely Than Liberals to Believe U.S. Will ‘Return to Normal’ in 3 Months, Survey Finds

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, 50% of Americans who identify as conservative say they think “things will return to normal” within three months, according to a new survey.

Only 20% of U.S. liberals agreed with the same statement, while 34% of those with moderate political affiliations do, per a survey conducted by consumer-research company E-Poll Market Research. Interestingly, the firm’s poll did not find a significant difference by age, except among teens 13-17, 43% of whom think normalcy will come in the next three months.

In addition, conservatives are more likely trust federal government leaders for information about the COVID-19 crisis (with a confidence score of 77 out of 100) compared with moderates (42) and liberals (23). Overall, U.S. consumers trust local news sources more than national TV networks for news sources. However, liberals are more than twice as likely as conservatives to express confidence in national TV news networks for coronavirus info, per E-Poll’s survey.

Where does the OT fall?

Most far left liberals don't have a job and don't want a job. They want chaos so the govt can pay for everything. It's their only real goal in life.

this is kind of silly.

Even if we open up everything TODAY, in 3 months it won't be NORMAL (pre COVID).

But it will certainly be closer to normal than a continued lockdown waiting for a vaccine.

People pandered to appreciate the pandering?

I'm shocked I tell you.

That may be true but I'm guessing liberals are far, far more likely to wish things don't return to normal soon. They seem to be enjoying it, I guess I get the political reason why they do but I can't understand being glad people are being locked in and hoping it drags out a long time. What a sucky way to live

That's because conservatives are vastly more realistic than liberals.

Why would liberals ever be optimistic about anything?

They've been sky screaming daily for 3 and half years without any kind of actual hardship other than someone they don't like is president

It has to do with your overall outlook on life.

Liberals are so pessimistic, glass half empty, looking for problems to create.

It's why mental illness is so rampant on that side compared to the other.

No they are not. I am tired of this crap too and would love for things to go back to "normal" tomorrow. And I do think we are wrecking the economy so at some point we may have to say frickit and go back to work. But we need to get our testing program ramped up as we are still woefully behind on this.

They're realizing most conservatives are getting mad and impatient. And just like we enjoyed their crying and skyscreaming when trump won, they are enjoying our frustration.

It’s kind of a dream moment for the entire premise of runaway Statism. “ Free “ money, a devaluation of the entire premise of work, government as a surrogate provider, State rollback of guaranteed Constitutional rights, etc. It’s just a perfect storm for anybody who would happily toss Individual Liberty into the trash can and replace it with some twisted version of “ security “.

Well, I was hopeful it would swing back quickly but there are too many takers and not enough makers out there. We may never return to what we once were. It saddens me to even think this, but that is where I am at.
