If you’re 12 years old in 6th grade in September it means you were held back either academically or by your parents before kindergarten because you “weren’t ready”.

That may be true for Louisiana. I started Kinder at 4 years old in Nola and graduated at 17. In Texas and many other areas, that just isn’t customary. As I said, my son is turning 13 in 7th grade and he’s one of the oldest in his grade.
Many people living in high performing school districts send their kids to a true Pre-school at the age of 4 and their 5 year olds enter kindergarten already reading and doing basic addition. Our kindergarten students aren’t learning shapes & colors.
I mean, Louisiana standards for anything education-related are laughable, at best.

Yes, I do have a hard time believing 12-year old boys in this day and age would do this and not get caught or leave any evidence.

Wtf you talking about? If you have don't want your kid graduating at 17, that is the age to be in 6th grade.
I personally was held back with a late September birthday for this very reason and just held my son back in 1st grade after he made straight As last year.
