Maybe there should be a higher penalty for those faking hate crimes since most states have a higher penalty for those that perpetrate them.

Don’t know why in 2019 people think this isn’t a very realistic possibility. Race relations feel like they’ve been set back 30 years.

Are you acting like hate crimes don’t exist because some idiots state (fake*) them? One family doesn’t not represent a whole country or race of people. It’s most likely just one idiot family going into business for themselves.
But yeah it’s way more likely there’s a next level BLM play here than there was an actual racially motivated incident. Did anyone read the article? Those quotes are pretty realistic for 12 year olds and not once did that say they used an N word or any other bullshite people come up with to exaggerate a situation.
