BUT "COME ON MAN"

In the bizarro world we live in today I wouldn't be the least bit shocked.

Baker Mayfield and Condaleza would be 2 peas in a pod. The entertainment would be undeniable and boost TV viewership.

Run it like live PD, but live CB. I’d love to hear some NFL players comment on how she runs practices and film rooms.

That makes way more sense than head coach of a professional football team.

There’s already a thread on the msb about this. They even managed to spell her name correctly in the title.

Can’t get any worse than it already is...I say give her a shot at it. Might be fun to watch the PT board implode as she hoists the Lombardi.

Maybe even GM of a team. But there's no way anyone is looking at her for HC. Not even the Browns.

Don’t they have to interview a few diverse people?

Before my time, but Buddy D used to constantly bring it up:

New Orleans, we have a problem: Remembering the Saints' astronaut executive
quote:

When NASA veteran Richard F. "Dick" Gordon Jr. was hired by team owner John Mecom to replace fired General Manager Vic Schwenk in 1972, there was at least some cause for optimism. After all, Schwenk had been a key cog in the team's front office since its inception in 1967. Since then, the team proved unable to win more than five games in a single season. Any change had to be good. The fact that Gordon was a young man at 42 years old, as well as a national celebrity - as all moonbound rocket jockeys were in those Space Race days - only added to the allure. The fact that he had the strong chin and rigid posture of Dudley Do-Right probably didn't hurt matters, either.

As for his qualifications for the job? Well, he was a famous astronaut. And he was a good friend of team owner John Mecom. Beyond that, though? Houston, we have a problem. "I have a great deal to learn," Gordon admitted frankly in his introductory press conference on Jan. 7, 1972, at Mecom's Lee Circle Office, "but I have a great staff below me to lean on."

And with that admission of ignorance, the hearts of countless Saints fans sunk.

It is the Browns we are talking about here. What is the worse she can do? 0-16? Oh wait they have already done that.

I think her dad coached under Bear Bryant at some point. I know he was a coach. She was on the CFB playoff committee for a year or two. Didn't realize that's all the qualifications you need to be a HC in the NFL.

One of my friends texted us about this this morning in a group text and we were joking about it. I haven't read anything on it or how this became a story, but I seriously doubt she would do this.

With that said, lets say they hire her.. What is she going to do? Make them worse? They actually do have the potential to become a pretty good team. They are 3-6-1, but last year they were 0-16. So they could bring in anybody and it wouldn't take much to go beyond expectations.

The funny thing is, I seriously doubt she would even consider the idea. So then there would be headlines like "Rice Turns Down Offer To Become Next Browns Coach" Then it would be talk that they can't find anyone who wants to coach there..
