Been in two separate Wendy's while traveling over the course of the last year - one in central Mississippi and the other on the Mississippi coast. Each time I turned around and walked out after having spent a couple of minutes in line witnessing the total disfunction. I won't go back (likewise for Micky D's and BK).

My first thought was Western Union. Who sends telegraphs and telegrams anymore? But they expanded into money transfers, which has kept them afloat.

I retired from Nokia (not by choice) at the end of 2020 when they decided to get rid of most of their US-based IT resources.
Started out with Western Electric in 1983.
Which became AT&T Network Systems, which became Lucent Technologies, which became Alcatel-Lucent, which was acquired by Nokia. 38 years with the same company even though the name changed 5 times.

Oddly, there is a BK just south of downtown Shreveport on Line. The area has a lot of transients. I occasionally go by there, and the service is always good. They also seem to do a good food preparation job. It tends to have the same crew all the time.

I can’t remember the last time I went to Applebee’s, but I’m pretty sure it’s been more than 10 years. We used to have 3-4 in Shreveport/Bossier, but I think we’re back down to 1.

Their overall ubiquity keeps them alive.
I MFing hate SharePoint. Everything about it sucks. But it's the backbone for most organizations' knowledge management. Shouldn't be, cos it's atrocious. But it's everywhere.

The chic-fil-a off of Louisiana avenue in Broussard is absolute shite. Terrible service with bad attitude workers. Cleanliness seems to have been ignored as well. That’s crazy though because chic-fil-a usually gets the absolute best of the best for the entry level employees. Which is why I’ve said for a long time the Bucees that will eventually be located there as well will be the worst one of them all. They will have to hire from the same “talent” pool.

If you take Taaka Vodka and run it through a Brita Filter twice it taste like Titos. To the point ER think there is no Tito's manufacturing they just filter it. Seriously filter cheap clear liquors and the taste improves. Thanks Alton Brown for teaching us that.
