Commuting by train >>>>> commuting by car
Posted by WeeWee on 2/5/19 at 8:33 am2016
I know that most of you would never consider giving up your commute in your F-250 with truck nuts but yall are missing out. I have been using Brightline here in Miami for the last week or so to commute to Ft Lauderdale and it is great. 30 minute train ride followed by a 10 minute Lyft ride.

Upvoted.
Commuting via the train or metro is much easier than driving. Just put in your headphones and read a book, play on your phone, etc. and you’re at your stop.
Much less stressful than dealing with traffic.

no way turning over control to someone else and not being able to control who you ride with is better.

Yes it is. It helps that Brightline is a private company that is run by Virgin Trains out of the UK so they know how to make the service nice. TriRail which is the public commuter train in Miami is shitty but it is still better than I-95 at rush hour.

Tell that to all the 25 year olds in New York that work for Goldman and take the subway to work every day. I’m betting they make more than double you do.

This is both the most American and dumbest response of all time. Congrats.

Man, thanks for the advice. I'll be sure to hop aboard the BTR rail line tomorrow morning.

And spend 5x as much on living expenses in New York.

I will admit it. I am poor as shite. I just finished medical school last month and I am working a temporary until I start a residency this summer. Brightline is not for the poor though because there are a lot of rich people in South Florida that use it to commute from Broward and West Palm Beach County to their jobs in Downtown Miami and Brickell. Their promotion with Lyft was f**king genius. I bought a week pass just to try it out and it covers my all my train trips and Lyft rides to my place of employment and back for $88 per week. Gas is expensive as in Miami so gas costs for me to commute using my explorer are roughly $65-70 per week. An extra $20 to avoid I-95 traffic is worth every single penny.

Letting another man bang your wife is also easier than doing it yourself.

Yeah sorry but I am not peddling a bike from Miami to Fort Lauderdale.
laziness
A little, plus have you seen the way the people in the democratic republic of northern cuba drive? Riding a bike that far is just asking for an accident.

I think I will do that. All I have to do where I live is drive my car a few miles and park, then wait until they build a rail line in my area. Shouldn't take more than a few decades...right?
