Made it a point today while working to go outside without a shirt and get sun for 15 minutes. This was done in my backyard so no innocent bystanders would have their retinas burnt out

Might be an unpopular opinion, but during the summer I want the sun to go down as quickly as possible

Yeah I'd trade daylight from 7:45-8:45pm for light in the morning. It's 95 degrees and miserable anyway and I'm winding down by that time of the evening.

But it’s going to be the same amount of daytime and heat either way.

Agreed. My kid is in first period when the sun comes up right now. She's been up for 2 hours already.

Yeah but in the morning I’m driving to work or in an office. After work is when I would be outside.

I love when the stroke of a clock arm magically creates an extra few hours of daytime.

Gotta love science.

You do realize that in the summer, it would still stay light until 8:30-8:35 instead of 9:45?

and they don't realize if we kept this stupid DST all year it would be dark at 8 a.m. in the morning in the winter here in the south. Just so these idiots can cut their grass at 8:30 p.m. in the summer. To hell with DST !

Kind of insane how many times this same stupid thought is repeated in these threads. You all live in society, it’s extraordinarily easy to understand

Either way the day is 24 hours long.

Now, for a few weeks kids go to school in the dark. Wasn't that one of the reason to begin with?

Doesn't it even itself out over time?

This. It's all about daylight after work hours to get these types of activities in. Golf season up North can now begin.

You say this until it’s the middle of June, 95 degrees, and the sun doesn’t set until 8:30. Might be an unpopular opinion, but during the summer I want the sun to go down as quickly as possible

That's why Arizona doesn't do daylight saving time. Cools off quicker in the summer in the evening. Nobody cares that it gets hotter an hour earlier, but cooling off quicker in the evening is nice.
