Comedian Shane Gillis (the guy fired from SNL)

With Norm passing and seeing the chatter about Theo and Tim Dillon, I figured I’d throw the young bull’s name in the ring. He is straight up OT Baw, bully comedy.
His new special: LINK
and he’s got shows in Lafayette this weekend.
(I’ve got no skin in the game for these shows, I’m just sad I can’t go)

I watched his special. It was good. He says a lot of non PC stuff but frames it as if his dad said it. I guess he learned his lesson after being cancelled once.

Shane dodged a bullet by getting fired from SNL. Save for Kate McKinnon (she’s an actual good actress and I think could be fine without SNL), this is the peak of all these untalented hacks careers. The guilty secret of SNL is it is currently filled with a bunch of rich kids where their parents bought their way into Ivy League and then they just get thrown on SNL as Woke writers and then join the cast. All SNL is is Woke church, and you’ll find skits as funny and indoctrinating as anything you’ll find in a Pentecostal Church service.
If SNL actually wanted to be funny, they’d fire almost everyone on the cast and every single person in the writers room and hire the following:
Tim Dillon
Shane Gillis
John McKeever
Kyle Dunnigan
Ryan Long
Nikki Glasser
Bridget Phetesy
JP Spears
Dave Smith
June Lapine
Kyla Fox

Listened to him on Theo Vonns podcast and it really opened my eyes to him. He seems like a really chill dude. Highly recommend the podcast on a long drive.

I have not. Should I put it on my list or avoid it entirely?

The “Real Time with Bill Maher” sketch has Top 10 material written all over it. Make each sketch 9 minutes long, the first 6 minutes with a panel of three, and final three minutes with the New Rule which would always be petty condescending bullshite. Think of it as Celebrity Jeopardy meets when Ben Affleck played Keith Olbermann but he’s more of a smug prick than anything else: YouTube

Sounds like you’ve put a lot of thought into this. Too bad you don’t have your own comedy show

I would like to run SNL, because I think I have some good ideas. I think this is a very funny sketch idea: a parody of Siskel and Ebert, but instead it would be this: Shapiro and Uygur. Have Kyle Dunnigan as Ben Shapiro and Shane Gillis as Cenk Uygur. There wouldn’t be any politics involved where they’d review two movies per sketch, always give it thumbs down for different reason, and then bring on a celebrity guest (always the host), and both proceed to trash them. Shapiro would be like the Church Lady hypercritical of everything from the most minute levels of flaws, while Cenk would be an idiot on the levels of Charlie Kelly from its Always Sunny pointing out shite that isn’t actually present in the film. Like with them reviewing Jaws:
Shapiro:
quote:
Why do they need a bigger boat? Whalers in the 19th century took down sperm whales, which by the way were much bigger than that shark, with nothing but harpoons and rowboats. If they need a bigger boat they are not very good at their job. Thumbs Down!
Cenk:
quote:
You know, I think it’s TOTAL bullshite someone didn’t bring in Trannsformers with total tomohawk bullshite missiles down for the shark! We need a bigger boat? No you need a fighter jet! Thumbs Down!
