When you make account changes, are you getting verification emails? If so, how are you answering those? Or do you?

Every time. I just do nothing. Comcast requires no verification of shite.

Sure

You can also perform a system wide reset, and you may be able to change channels in real time as well

Although you may have to be on the network to do that. Not 100% sure.

Yep, just confirmed

Using the Xfinity TV Remote app on my phone, I can absolutely change the channels on my living room TV even though my phone is not on the local wifi network

The reason they used your email is probably because they have no intention of ever paying Comcast.

Yeah, that's not how bills work. And 33 up votes to boot

And now today, i get fricked by ATT

Look at my account, making sure my check was put in, and there is a $142 electronic withdraw from ATT.

I have No Internet, Phone,TV,etc with them.

This is my checking account, so i'm kinda fricked, now it will become a bank/att deal, and ill sit back with peter in my hand as they figure shite out.

Called ATT, of course they have no clue about the charge.

The cable companies are hated.

One of my former law partners tried a case, defending a cable company in an accident case. The day trial started, the local paper had an article announcing a local rate increase in cable fees, and said that the rate increase would generate $283,300 in new revenue (I don't remember the exact number, but it was around the number cited).

Jury rules against cable company, awarding damages of $283,300.

I have something similar happen. My personal Gmail account is my FirstIntial and last name. I've had it since Gmail was invite only during beta back around '01-'02.

So now, every Tom, Dick and Harry that has the same first initial and last name as me i get their emails. I assume the are using first initial dot last name or first Intial underscore last name and using sites that don't recognize those characters. I dont know.

Anyway, dude live in Glendale, AZ and uses Lyft every weekend for like a $6-$8 ride to and from somewhere. I get his emails and I always go and tip the max, $25. There's no way to contact Lyft or unsubscribe and they don't require and authorization to tip from the CC on file.

The furst time I did it i got the replies from Lyft billing where he had email and complained. But I just accepted it.

I also get emails to hiss Chase credit card and bank account but I haven't fricked with that one. I could have denied charges when it emailed about excessive charges and a cpl other things that would have jammed him up but I let it pass.

There's no link to respond to Chase and unsubscribe. The email say don't reply to this address.

Same with his Redbox account. I can't block the email without blocking my email address from Redbox.

What I want to know is, when people sign up for these sites do they not get a confirmation email. WTF?

Broke's email address is associated with an account that isn't his. This is an obvious problem
