But am I NOT authorized? After all I've verified my existence using the email address on the account?
quote:Oh I know.
And I've done a lot less frickery than I've wanted to.
Like I said, I would probably do the same thing. You haven't done any real harm.

All Broke has done is the equivalent of spray painting a dick and balls around a pot hole.

Shouldn't Comcast make the effort here to resolve an issue that has been brought to their attention? Surely the reps can put in a ticket or escalate an issue to someone who can contact the actual account owner and correct the info.
A tier 1 representative cannot even put in a ticket or escalation on this because Broke cannot CPNI verify. He can answer all the security questions and security code, address etc, but since his name is not Lavonna, they won't be able to do anything for him.
Broke, you can try calling in, ask the tier 1 that you want to speak to the floor manager, not the team lead, not the team supervisor, but the floor manager. They would be more willing to reach out to the account holder to get everything straightened out.
But the easiest way is to call in, pretend to be Lavonna, verify the CPNI information, change the email on the Acct.

So you're recommending he commit fraud to fix Comcast's problem created by someone stealing his email address?

I haven't harassed anyone. If anything Comcast has harassed me. I've given them every chance in the world to make it right. They didn't. I've only done stuff on the account set up under my email address
Again you keep on repeating how this lady deserves it because of something that comcast has done. Do you really not see how that makes absolutely no sense?
"I'm going to take my frustrations out on this person who has possibly done nothing wrong because they subscribe for a service from a company that has upset me."
It's nonsense. And yes, you are harassing her, knowingly invading her privacy, and engaging in petty, low level theft against her. This is some really immature shite.

Once again, that would be committing actual fraud, and would probably get him in more trouble than what he is currently doing.

She used his email address to set up her account. That's certainly not "done nothing wrong."

This thread is 4chan level bad.
You've already said that you can do this by updating the email address in the profile. This would be a hell of an easy fix, so your statement is total BS.
I still don't understand what a person gains by inputting someone else's email address into their cable subscription account. It seems like this was more of a mistake by Comcast. Now that you found some leverage, you think that causing a lot of trouble for both comcast AND some customer who likely doesn't have any idea about the email issue.
You are a piece of shite.

I want my fricking email removed from Comcasts system immediately.

If you are listed as an account holder, can you not just go into your profile settings and change the email to hers?

Actually I can now. But let me have some fun. It's taken me 2 years to finally get to this point.

If we're to believe his email is truly so obscure that this wasn't a typo by the customer or Comcast, then it is safe to assume this woman stole his email address. To what purpose does it serve her to use it on this Comcast account, who knows? But if she did indeed steal his email address, that is identity theft and she deserves this.

In not so many words, yes. If he truly wants the quickest resolution to his problem. Happens all the time. Especially during divorce cases when one party wants to get the emails and call logs but the party is not the Acct holder but an authorized user.
The only person who can make changes to Acct as far as correspondence (address, email, phone number, turning voicemail on or off) is the account holder. If he wants to remove his email from the Acct, he's gonna have to either find out where to change it under the my account settings, or trick a tier 1 rep.

quote:Again, how much effort should a non-customer 3rd party be expected to go through in order for Comcast to fix a problem that has been brought to their attention? I mean, how is he even supposed to know the exact titled person to ask for? Do the peons he has talked to so far not even have the ability to fricking SPEAK with someone who can fix the problem?

Why is it safer to assume that some random person stole his address rather than a HUGE company that may have acquired his address through other means. He may have once subscribed to a cable company that was bought out by Comcast. He, nor anyone else knows this how his email address was assigned to the account.

You literally think that breaking the law is a better alternative than having the parties involved pull their head out of their arse an resolve a situation he shouldn't even be in. That's fricking retarded.

When this person signed up for this account, she put in an email address, and potentially a backup. Currently, her email address is the backup. So you think its more likely Comcast took an email of a person who has never been a Comcast customer, and replaced this ladies email with his on the account and bumped her actual email down to the backup? That seems like alot would've had to go into this Comcast mistake.

You believe that this company, who's wasted a ton of Broke's time trying to fix something as simple as changing an email address, won't take just as much time trying to fix all of this other stuff? Where do you come up with this stuff?

You've already said that you can do this by updating the email address in the profile. This would be a hell of an easy fix, so your statement is total BS.
Besides, in order to make this easy fix, OP would have to knowingly access a computer system that he is not authorized to access and make changes, which is against the law. I realize he has already done this, but the point is you guys are suggesting that he break the law again in order to fix a problem that isn't his to begin with. This is ABSURD.

Earlier I almost called them and said "Look I'm in an account that doesn't have my name on it but it's linked to my email address. I want to take my email addy off this account." But this seems like a really bad idea. And it's likely to bring some heat on me that is undeserved.
