Rigged to some kind of explosive device apparently.
The article could have been clearer on what the device was.

Too bad that's not how it works.
You can't just setup booby traps on your property. Even in castle doctrine, you don't get the final say on what constitudes an intruder.
I don't like door to door salesmen either, but you can't just maime them.

That law sucks. Don’t trespass.
No soliciting. If I want your product I’ll find you.

lol, booby traps are very illegal if someone gets hurt. A booby trap has no way of determining if a guy is a criminal or if a guy is delivering an Amazon package.

They likely dont order amazon
If they have a gate and clear no trespassing signs then i support the homeowners.

If they had a no trespassing sign up, then I don't see the problem.

You're pissing off a lot of sovereign citizens it seems.
I can't believe someone would even think they could do this with no repercussion.

I think the retard here is the guy that would see a keep out sign then continue to walk into a wire that is clearly attached to a rusted spike in the ground.

There was a story posted on here some years ago where a kid was killed while trespassing through some guy's land and hitting a booby trap. This board overwhelmingly was like "that landowner fricked up and should be charged".
There is no difference between that story and this story, and yet look at the responses.

Wrong. You just can't get caught maiming them.
