Here's a take for you, from someone who actually supported the baker's right to refuse service.....they put a big fricking bullseye on their own backs by making that choice and going to court in the gay wedding case. It's petty as all hell and obnoxious for this transitioning person to do, but it's not like this baker was chosen at random.

Without going into the merits of the issue, your take is accurate.

In real life, the good guy doesn't always get the girl, and the hero doesn't always win.

And doing the "right" thing is most likely going to get you screwed over. Full stop. I learned this lesson the hard way. Unfortunately for the bakers, they're learning it too.

I still don’t understand why a private business can refuse a customer and can face a lawsuit?

Not even an “off the shelf” product. Apparently you can be compelled to provide any customized product your customers demand.

Bake it and charge them whatever he spent on legal fees for the last case.

How mentally deranged does someone have to be to type these 2 completely opposite viewpoints right next to each other, and actually believe the first one is true?

This evil count goes after him once every few months hoping to drive him out of business. I’m being serious when I say this, but next time she’s alone in a car, I hope she dies in a car fire. Bottom .01% of society and the world would be better off without her.

well I was a kid in the 80s and 90s, so I really didn't pay attention to this type of stuff back then, but I vaguely remember the moral panics surrounding video games and music back then

but if I had to guess, Millennial conservatives are a lot more morally liberal than Boomers, so early 2000s maybe was the shift?

This is like the fifth time this evil bitch has done this to him. She knows she’s going to lose, but the point of this is to rack up his legal bills until he can no longer afford them and either caves or goes out of business. This is a very, very evil woman who needs the asskicking of a lifetime.

Can't hide behind religion on this one! A transition does not include a religious ceremony.

Make the cake you homophobe!

If anything I'd argue the baker has a better case with this one. Is "gender transitioning" a protected class under the civil rights act? He's not refusing to make a cake based on their gender alone.

It sucks that you can't tell a potential customer, "no thanks" ... "I'm not interested in selling my stuff to you"

Big companies do it all of the time in the corporate world - walk away from less profitable contracts.

in Colorado, "Trans status" is a protected class

and I don't know what religious ground/doctrine he could argue here

I'd like to think this case has no shot, but I don't know

I'm also very obviously not a lawyer though

Problem is the people you vote for are doing everything they can to make the Baker be forced to bake the cake

Not sure how you rectify that
