I saw some Japanese people on the Brooklyn Bridge. They were taking photos and speaking Japanese and pointing at things. They looked really pleased with themselves--smug bastards were probably planning another surprise attack.
We are at a scary place as a world right now. We have become ultra paranoid from the media'a scare tactics, but also seeing terrorists continually make threats and follow through. We have terrorists use sole purpose is to kill Americans by coming here and blending in as much as possible. That my friend is truly scary and it does more harm to the people of Arabic decent that really just want to come here to take full advantage of opportunity. We are stuck in a place where we don't want to be prejudice, but you still can't be too careful. It is a fine line.

Not everyone who speaks Arabic blows up airplanes, but everyone who blows up airplanes speaks Arabic.

Why would you ever jump to the assumption that someone speaking Arabic is intending to do so

Sitting comfortably in my office, I agree.

About to take off in a plane, I might have a different opinion.

It is how the masses think. It's counterproductive and it ruins lives. They think the ends justify the means. The means are usually at the cost of life/liberty of the individual.

Well, if we had virtually daily instances of bikers carrying out terrorist attacks and trying to do things like blow up airplanes full of people, I'd see why people were on edge around us.

so when you pull that "first they come for the bikers then they come for the....." line, you really only worry about whats happening to you and yours, not the people already putting up with the profiling?

In the US? No, In the world? Yes. There's not a day go by that where there's not a story about some Islamic terrorist attack of some sort somewhere.

There aren't outlaw motorcycle clubs committing crimes every single day in the US?

No. Where are you getting this from?

Do you realize we are all far more likely to get fricked up by a random biker than a random Muslim?

How many people have been randomly attacked by bikers in the past say 10 or even 20 years?

Once again, I never said what the lady did was right. I'm not defending her. All I did was state how they think and why they think the way they do. Again, for like the third time,I'M NOT SAYING IT'S RIGHT.

No, they just threw people in ovens and committed other means of mass torture/genocide.

That was 80 years ago. 9/11 was much more recent. Time is a factor in these things. I mean, i'm not looking over my shoulder for Romans or Egyptians, because of what happened thousands of years ago.

But the fact is 9/11 was a world changing moment. The continued slaughter of innocents by radical Islamic fundamentalists is now a daily occurrance. So i don't blame anyone for being cautious. I'd rather be cautious and come off as being islamaphobic than have my plane flown into a building.

Does that make it right that the kid was thrown off the plane? No. But i understand it. The terrorists that kicked off this war made life different for everyone. Including "peaceful" muslims. Sorry, but thank Bin Laden and ISIS for that. Just as Americans must now suffer through lines of checks before entering a plane.

Depends on whom you hang out with.

Neither is likely but average Joe Blow and Peggy Buckaloo from Anywhere USA are more likely to get fricked up by a biker than a Muslim.

Neither is very likely to happen BTW.

I'm just pointing out Darth's blatant hypocrisy on profiling.

Just curious, where do you get your data from? If you're going on sheer numbers, there are probably more muslims than hardcore bikers in the USA

But the problem is terrorist attacks from Muslims and Arabs in particular are not rare, in fact they're quite common and seem to be getting more numerous all the time.

They're quite rare in the US. Go over to religionofpeace.com, they have a list of every time a Muslim does something that injures or kills someone - not just terrorist attacks but basically anything. Look up any year in the US and it's lower than the crime blotter in North BR just about any week.

TRUTH.
frick em. Tell them all to ride a camel wherever they need to get to. In 10 years (clock restarts every time they blow something up) we will stop profiling them.

I'll go a step further and say that it ain't happening daily anywhere other than in the ME and certain war torn parts of Africa. It's not happening daily in Western nations. Lumping in massively fricked up parts of the ME that have been run by war lords and dictators for the entirety of our lives w/everywhere else is silly.

No. Where are you getting this from?

Ok come now. It's a given that there are gangs that run guns and drugs. Those gangs are all breaking the law daily. Don't pretend they aren't.

More individual instances of people getting on the wrong wide of bikers has happened in that time than Muslim's committing acts of terrorism.

Sorry you don't like it but if being PC stops at the gate of a plane for Muslims than it's completely fair to say being PC towards bikers stops the moment they gather in a large group.

The Hells Angels have over 230 chapters and are in 26 countries worldwide. They operate on 6 continents. One could argue they are a threat everywhere.

I speak Rabbles of Germans and I'll say a bit to my friends in person or on the phone. Doubt as a white male I would ever get kicked off a plane for doing so.

A couple things, you're trying to compare someone speaking a language that literally 99% of terrorist speak, to a language that doesn't initiate an ounce of fear because it doesn't reflect terrorism.

2. Shouldn't you really be worried about these people, assuming you know about current events in Germany (since whatever reason you have an interest in the language). Since these Arabic speaking people are destroying a country you hold an interest in?
