Clearly our system of punishment is not working. Perhaps we should try public execution, by torture, then follow the crime stats and see if that is a deterrent.

It would work. In indisputable cases, just saw their toes, fingers and wang off with a Sawzall in public and let them bleed out. Violent crime would drop 60%

this will happen more often as long as the next generation of kids is taught that getting into a stranger's car is ok.

Had she summoned an Uber ride? I'm not clear on this. She just randomly got in someone's car thinking it was her Uber ride, but turned out to be a killer? How did this guy know she wanted an Uber ride?

FWIW, when I was leaving a show in Chicago I had a guy stop and tell me was an Uber driver that could take me home. I had already summoned a Lyft that wasn’t there yet. Depends on where exactly she was at when he tried to pick her up. I’m pretty sure Five Points is UCSe’s big bar scene so I could see where someone would impersonate a driver and it’d be easy to pick someone up.
