They do but the little I use it and know its nothing really concrete.
It would be very simple for uber to have something like a 4 digit password that the driver has to show you and that you are sent. Or they could even pick a word, giraffe. Don't get into the uber unless the driver knows the password.
But I mean the driver could be a legit uber driver and still do this.

Had the same thoughts when I heard Clarendon County. Those dead rural areas are so empty that it gives me a little creepy feeling to just drive through during the day.
