It really isn’t if you look at how voters were portrayed by the MSM. More educated (smart) people voted for Harris. Less educated (dumb) people voted for Trump. It was repeated over and over and is insulting to say the least
This guy gets it!
CNN and The View made it seem like 100% of college educated voted Harris in the manner they said it. Basically "College educated voted Harris. Non-college educated voted Trump." This is blatently misleading. It was:
Female degreed: 60/40 Harris
Male degreed: 52/48 Trump

Being college educated means nothing to intelligence.
Look at leftist women on TikTok shaving their heads and telling their husbamds no more sex.

You mean to tell me the barista with a degree in English isn’t smarter than the average person?

In other countries, you have to score high enough on exams to get into college.
That's because those countries pay for college through tax dollars. There's no way they could afford to accept that many students.

If you gathered the average intelligence of "college educated" folks, and those who are "uneducated" do you think those numbers would be equal, or even favoring the "uneducated"?

The younger generation think that the older generation is stupid because they don't have computer skills that they do. I always tell them if they turn off the electricity, they will be the dumbest person in the room.

If you go to college for a Humanities major you are receiving an indoctrination not an education.
I guess if you think literature doesn't matter, and History isn't important. I guess you wold think literacy itself is unimportant as Language Arts fall under Humanities.
Generally speaking, a college graduate is simply better read than a non-graduate. At least that used to be the case before the internet.

Smartest man I have ever known was my grandfather. He dropped out of HS to serve in the Pacific against Japan. He worked in chem plants and served in Korea. He then worked for the school board repairing electronics. His hobbies were reading everything he could get his hands on, digging through trash to find electronics, power tools, and gas-engines to repair, walking the woods near the local golf course to collect golf balls to sell to driving ranges, and coaching his kids' athletics teams.
There's a difference between intelligence and wisdom.
Your grandfather obviously had both.

I’ve met a lot of high IQ non-graduates but the main difference I’ve seen, in general, is that graduates have a higher level of social intelligence.

Yeah, as much as they look down their nose at you with it, their gender studies degree doesn't make them better than the garbage man.
Or even smarter
Gender studies graduates will likely have far higher reading comprehension and analytical skills

My reading level in the 7th grade was higher than most college students today...
This article is from 10 years ago and it certainly hasn't gotten better since.

You are rather sensitive on the subject. Why so fragile?
So people just stop existing when they go to college? They are not gaining some sort of life experience in a different form than yours?
Where is this coming from? Why so worked up on the topic?

Edited: I’m not going to get into the weeds and over-analyze this, but I think a good argument could probably be made that non-college-educated people are actually a tad more “life savvy” than college educated people because they had a 4-8 year real-life “head start” on those that went to college. Think about it… it makes sense.

What’s funny is that one of the biggest demographics of people not going college (you know who I’m talking about) stay on the plantation and vote blue no matter what. Until this election Hispanics were in that same boat as well.

No one should look down at anyone.
I agree, there are degrees that are easy to obtain.

Undergrad in a stem field and 2 grad degrees in non stem.
Some of the smartest people I've ever met held PhDs. I mean some absolutely brilliant well rounded people.
Some of the biggest retards when it comes to usable knowledge have also had PhDs.
The education is an introduction to knowledge with a specialization. Some people take it and run, some not so much.
The most useful man I know is a high school drop out. Absolutely brilliant, a voracious reader and learner. Has been head IT guy of a multi national corporation, plant manger for a while, when he got tired of having to fire people he started his own business for a while until he realized he hated dealing with the public. Now he works as head of maintenance for a specialty manufacturing facility where he can be pushed to learn, get paid triple what I do and only has to deal with one boss and his team.
That being said if I had to work out a problem that required deep thinking and a wide range of knowledge and had to pick blindly either educated or non.....I'm picking the degrees.

It's a dumb metric. And yes I have a degree

Not only is college ridiculous, so is high school and elementary school.
I suggest sending your children to kindergarten only, then pulling them out of school and getting them a lemonade stand. That will not only give them a 16 year head start on their peers, but also set them up for life.
Also, you may want to consider getting out a little more if your parents are the two smartest people you know.

I have multiple college degrees and am working on another one. I don't think I am smarter than anyone, but I do know more than a lot of people, albeit most of it useless as it relates to most jobs.
Education is what you make it. It's a goal accomplished, and I won't admonish anyone that didn't take on that challenge. I learned more about myself in college at the age of 42 and that's a huge takeaway for me.
