Of course it isn't. It's just as bad as Coke.

Skinny people are a smaller target to shoot than fat people so maybe, just maybe, this puts a dent in the NOLA murder rate.

I would never let my kids make a steady diet out of that crap, but I definitely have a problem with the government telling us what we can buy, eat and drink!

What? We no longer serve kids meals, may I offer the new special small? Comes with a LARGE soft drink for the price of a small!

Nothing after this is ever good.

Also, I don’t know you but I think I remember a lot of your positions and I don’t think you actually hate it. Could be wrong though.

Again, all about feelings. How about hammering young kids with the dangers of obesity in Health class/PE?

How about removing anything that isn’t fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, beans, rice, and lesser and/or lean cuts of meat from food stamps availability?

There are actual things to be done, this government overreach isn’t an effective one.

Kids and parents would still be able to order soft drinks, but only by going off-menu.

Forgive me, as I never worked in the restaurant business, but what, exactly, in the frick does this mean?

Do I simply have to say, "Kid's meal with a Coke, please."?

Coming soon: Government mandated arse wiping policy, back to front while in the sitting position. Show proof and receive a free booster shot and a government cheese log.

Maybe NO leaders should address the lack of parenting.

You can’t do that because then it would call into question all the single mother queens that choose to allow dead beat, worthless asshats to father countless children with no responsibility.

If you can clean the terminals on your car battery with the liquid, then you probably shouldn’t be drinking it.

IMO, sugary soft drinks and diet drinks in general are by far the single worst dietary thing. They provide no nutritional value, they make you fat, they are hard on your body to process, the diet drinks have artificial sweeteners that are no bueno, and hell they are extremely hard on your teeth.

One Lent I gave up soft drinks and after getting by the initial cravings for them (oh yeah they are addictive as hell), I lost 10 pounds in the 40 days.

That being said, doing this but not preventing those govt assistance from buying it is extremely hypocritical.

What it means is that you have to pay separately for it and it can’t come with the meal.

Cost of Happy Meal (that comes w/drink) + Cost of whatever soft drink you want

Honestly, if they were going to go this route, water is the only answer.

You are replacing a beverage with calories with another beverage with calories. I guess the diff is no caffeine.

All that said. I respect the city council trying to step in to try and stop ingnorant parents. I hate the government overreach, but I have to acknowledge that no one is dealing with the crippling health issue brought on by ignorance.

I don't agree, but at least they are trying something.

Of course you're for more government by an inept group

Not expanding government would be a good start. Are you trolling or are you actually this ok with government interfering in all sorts of areas they really have no business getting involved?
