, what conversation are you having? I'm asking a question about what the actual crime was. For a hate crime to exist, you have to commit a crime first. The "hate" part isn't criminal without a crime. What is the crime upgrayedd? Is it vandalism?

So if a white guy wrote "Go home n*****", it's a hate crime but if a black guy writes "Go home n*****", it's vandalism?

I assume racial intimidation is considered a hate crime, but these people who create these hoaxes typically aren't charged with that crime. It's almost as if they're...privileged.

I am not a fan of CNN, I agree that most if not everyone working there leans left. I want to hear the truth, no matter who benefits or suffers. But I don't correlate what this reporter said with what you concluded.
