Basically the word racist has lost all meaning due to ubase, which is unfortunate for real victims.

Seems to be an ever-evolving meaning.

Alabama is about to send a pedophile who used his job to meet and molest a 14 year old. Same guy who has been removed as a judge twice, disbarred and never admitted doing anything wrong. The ONLY reason he’ll get elected is because he’s not a Democrat. To me that a disgusting and embarrassing feeling.

But look at CNN and their fake news.

It's also a bit embarrassing to everyone who reported on it too. She said it was "unfortunate to learn who, really all the way around, who wrote it." In other words, the entire situation was unfortunate.

Journalism is dead, even on PBS. It's all yellow journalism and tabloid quality crap.

There's little doubt that news organizations are being bought off which has become a valid business practice

Why would this make someone happy? If it’s not a hoax, a crappy person did it. If it is a hoax, a crappy person did it.

Because a hoax is a lot better than an actual scenario where bigots feel comfortable enough to openly intimidate other people.

I would compare this to CNN saying it was 'unfortunate' that they found out someone faked their own death, rather than actually being a murder.

The general said that.

His speech after the whole thing started was that racism has no place at the academy and the cadets need to show leadership etc. So while the reason for his speech is proven false, he's saying his words still stand.

CNN continued to reach new lows this week after the network’s anchor expressed her disappointment that an alleged hate crime at the United States Air Force Academy turned out to be a hoax, suggesting it was “unfortunate” that cadets weren’t actually racist.

What are they talking about? That one cadet was absolutely a fricking racist

She was just agreeing with the general who said that the words were written so it should be addressed.

Which is right...black folks faking racism should be addressed and it is unfortunate that this particular cadet did this.

We call these acts despicable at first, then once proven to be a hoax, we call them "unfortunate". That's a real problem.

Yeah, whoever wrote it was despicable. It's unfortunate it turned out to be one of the victims. I understand not giving CNN the benefit of the doubt here, but I still don't see the problem.

That's not true at all. In fact it harms people of all walks because it casts doubt on future racism claims

Another question here is why isn't the black cadet being held responsible for a hate crime? If a white cadet actually wrote it, they would be tried and kicked out I'm sure. So why should it be any different?
