Was there probably 10 times between 1997 and 2001. Good times.

I don't know why i am so amazed by the Facebook pics that find their way here, but I am. It's like social media tells us what to remember and what to talk about.

Probably in 97 or 98 we were there. Outside La Vela on the beach, some frat boy stole a hotel's golf cart and started riding it into the Gulf.

There was a huge crowd on the beach cheering him on.

Cops showed up and just started pepper spraying everyone lol.

Saw a sorority chick take a direct hit to the face. Lots of puking and crying.

shite was wild.

That's a real common occurrence these days. Oh, you meant pepper spray in the face. Sorry!

Went by there a few years after graduating from college and saw that Drivin N Cryin was playin there that weekend. You can't get more early to mid-90s than that.

Back in 2007 or 2008, I remember walking in a bathroom and a guy was doing cocaine off a pocket knife blade. Not sure how he managed to keep it all dry considering he was covered in “foam”.
that may have been me

These are the kinds of stories that make my day. Love some good shenanigans.

The real partying at night was done on the beach right behind La Vela.

I was there first weekend in June, 2002. What a beautiful, beautiful place to be as a 17 year old kid from Louisiana with a fake ID.

Of course their millenial kids never got to do anything like this because we might get kidnapped

We took a trip to PCB a few years ago and stayed at the Casa Loma for nostalgia. That was the curved hotel at the end of the strip. It was actually kept up quite well and had a cool retro vibe.

F'king Millennials, it's spit roast. Get off my lawn and go back to playing Fortnite on the PS7 in your mom's basement.

Any millennial raised by a boomer defuncts this idea. I'm 36 so I think that puts me at millennial. We rode bikes that I'd never let my kids ride to . And La Vela will still going strong in my day as well. You must be talking about whatever classification is after us.
