Will the baby be in daycare? Most require disposable diapers.
I had a few friends who were into cloth diapering and they fell into two distinct groups. One side claimed they chose it because of environmental reasons or cheaper but it was really some sort of maternal status symbol and being a part of a club. They would constantly buy them (even though they had plenty), bragging about paying a lot of money for them, post pictures of their "fuzzy stash", posting pictures of their kids in them. They treated cloth diapers like designer handbags.
The other group was crunchy. Breastfeeding, baby wearing, cosleeping, organic, baby lead weaning/eating, natural everything. Fair warning, most of this group ended up using reusable menstrual cups.

This is 100% accurate. Cloth diapers become a weird status symbol.
My sister was in the 2nd group. They also homeschool.

Since it sounds like your wife is in charge then I guess it’s up to her

I hope all your furniture is leather because cloth diapers leak.
When a baby poops in a disposable diaper you change the diaper, tie it in a plastic grocery sack and take it outside.
The dirty diaper stays in your house less than 5 minutes.
With a cloth diaper the diaper sits in the corner of a room for a few days until they get washed.
The smell will leak into your house and on you. No one will tell you and you won't know because poop will become normal for you to smell.

We cloth diapered our daughter until she started potty training with pockets and all in ones. It wasn’t bad, honestly, and not much different than disposables. Now, we didn’t start until she could fit into the one size, so we used newborn disposables. Baby never had diaper rash and we got enough that we washed once a week. They even took them at daycare. One set of diapers took her from four months to potty training, so we did save money for sure.

Among the other arguments made by posters, can you imagine how much extra time would be spent doing cloth diapers? You’re gonna have to go clean off most of the poop, then throw the diapers in the wash, then dryer, then fold them probably. When the baby is covered in poop and you have to quickly change the diapers, imagine how long it will take to clothespin a cloth diaper to the baby. And you’re inevitably gonna prick the baby with the clothespins

Let me guess, your wife is all about it. I was nice enough to have a sprayer installed on the toilet to wash the diaper off into the toilet.
In a few weeks after birth she is going to change the baby but ask you to wash it off. Say no way...next thung you know you will be at Sams getting Pampers.

Why don't you just shite directly into the washer? Skip a step!

In the days before Pampers, cloth diapers were only option. The best cloth diapers contained asbestos fibers, they would last forever.

It really isn't, sorry.
We have lived in this house for 6yrs. During the first 2yrs we hated the shtty LG set we purchased, so bought a new set and put the LG set in the garage to be used as "over-flow".
