My 20th class reunion is planned for Oct 20th (the weekend of the Ole Miss game)..

The whole class reunion thing isn't for me, but I have never heard of anyone having a class reunion like this.

It is a weekend thing. Friday night its the actual reunion. On Saturday they will be doing a day cruise (in New Orleans), then on Sunday its like a family day in which everyone can bring their kids and they will BBQ and what not.

During football season, as sad as it is, I do not do not plan anything on the weekends that does not involve football and it has to be extremely important for me to go somewhere that is not football related (I seriously do not attend weddings, birthday parties, etc during football season. Ive even pissed family members off because of this), but seriously, has anyone ever had a class reunion that was a whole weekend?

You should go for a little bit, and roll out if it's lame.

My 10 year was a 2 night thing, but the people that planned your thing sound like they never went to college and waste their money on dumb shite.

Yes. Party, golf tournament, family event, regular reunion party. You could pick or choose what to be a part of. I imagine it is done this way to make it an event worth traveling back for.

Small school?

My parents had something like this, but it was like 30 years and they were a small close knit class.

My 20th was a weekend as well with the same type of schedule with a reunion one day and family day cookout the next. I didn't make it as it was scheduled for the weekend of the 4th of July and I had previous travel plans already. I'm guessing it's pretty common due to the likelyhood of classmates having families by the 20th reunion.

It's sort of perplexing to me that THEY'D be doing something so elaborate.

Most of my HS class is living in some form of a manufactured home. I don't care to see any of them again.

This is what happens when chicks get together to plan shite. They wanted to do an all weekend shindig for our reunion. We shot that down with the quickness for a one night fish fry.

As somebody said on another thread, one of the few good things about social media is it relieves you of the obligation to goto reunions.

People should be more considerate when planning their events during football season and any sports championships. Then they get pissed when less people show up. Had to miss the LSU-Tennessee SEC championship game for a wedding.

My 20th anniversary was last month and there's been no talk of a reunion. Not that I would go if there was one.
