The people saying China is full of shite are the same people citing the low worldwide death stats as proof that the virus aint that bad.

This is the problem. They locked down too tight. The port cities are at great risk. They will be the first to have a widly distributed vaccine. I would bet by the end of July. It won't meet FDA requirements.

And just think. That's 40k in Wuhan alone. China has well over 1 billion people, with Wuhan having 11+ million of them.

The real victory for China is this. Americans are still at each other's throats with this partisan crap. Why can't we drop the political name calling while we deal with a national crisis? I mean both sides, and members of both parties.
I am interested in the real Chinese numbers, not because of who looks bad or who looks good because of those numbers, but rather because it will tell us how to proceed as a country. China hasn't reported any deaths in more than a week, right? And yet cities haven't come off of lockdown.

If the Italy stats are applied to China they would have a death in excess of 300K. Even though Italy has socialized medicine, I dare say their ability to treat is significantly better than the average Chinese hospital. Thus it is reasonable to assume that 300K would be a rather conservative estimate with a likely really figure if 3 to 4 times that figure.
