Jefferson Parish is more corrupt than Orleans Parish
Kenner is more corrupt than Jefferson Parish is as a whole
Harahan is more corrupt than Kenner
But Jefferson, Kenner, and Harahan are also somewhat competent, so the corruption isn't as well noticed.

Kenner has mayors?
Mike Yenni, he of the "I went to Jesuit and give underwear in mall bathrooms to teenage boys" was a mayor of Kenner.

Wasn’t his last name something besides Yenni, before he decided to get into Kenner politics?

Not sure if I agree with this.

His mom was a Yenni, his dad was a Maunoir; his birth name was Michael Maunoir.
His grandfather and uncle were both well-respected elected leaders: Joe Yenni (Mayor of Kenner and Parish President) and Mike Yenni (Parish President).
To capitalize on the family name, he took his mother's maiden name and ran with it.
His ruse worked. Many dumbasses thought he was the late Mike Yenni's son (Mike Jr.) instead of his nephew.

There is a lot more corruption in JP than many people realize. There is always some kind of shite show happening.

And a lot more political deals in JP too, that even if not flat-out corruption are definitely back-room patronage politics.
Not taking sides on Gretna using parish public money to build a brewery and restaurant and handing out a no-bid lease to the operators, but if something like this happened in Orleans Parish this would be a 10-page thread on here.

Let's post interesting facts about where you are from.
I live in the same parish as a black slave owner who was the richest black in the US during his time.

For the downvoters, I would have started a thread about it if I were allowed to, but since I can't I have to find somewhat related threads to post something I would have started a thread about.

That last one is Eddie D’Gerolamo who was a good friend of my family’s. He was mayor from 1962 to 1970.
