Iowa, Louisiana.
(Pronounced I-away).

Louisiana has some cities (or towns) that aren't in the parish with the same name:
Franklin isn't in Franklin Parish.
Washington isn't in Washington Parish.
Plaquemine isn't in Plaquemines Parish.
Catahoula isn't in Catahoula Parish.

Georgia has several like that as well.
Clayton, Georgia is in the mountains while Clayton County is just south of the airport.
Douglas, Georgia is way down south and not in Douglas County (but Douglasville is).

I'd be remiss to not mention North Augusta, South Carolina and East St. Louis, Illinois.

There is a Dallas, GA and an Atlanta, TX.

Both are a few thousand folks so not just spots in the road.

Pittsburgh, PA is the only one with an "H". The other 10 or 15 are all "Pittsburg". The most notable is probably in Kansas.

So which is named wrong - the one you've heard of or all the others?

This got me thinking...along with West Memphis, Arkansas these are cities located across a river from the city they are named for. Are there any others like this or are these three the only ones?

There's not a South Cincinnati, Kentucky or an East Philadelphia, New Jersey.
