What did his dad do?

Other than give him a gun on his 21st birthday (He's 21 currently) we don't know.

I guess you could say he raised a little racist psychopathic count. But we don't even know who raised him.

Cliffs: Gov. Haley basically thanked everyone, was proud of everyone throughout the state, then got choked up when saying that the heart and soul of SC was broken with this event.

This really does hurt. Something about it all having occurred in Charleston makes it all the more terrible.

I haven't lived in SC for almost 3 years now, but I've just been down in the dumps since this news broke. Charleston is the jewel and pride of the state. Just can't believe this happened in a place so tranquil and beautiful. It's called the Holy City for a reason. Really sucks.

so is someone gonna snipe him?

I remember watching the videos of mcveigh leaving the court room as a kid. Very calm and composed. If you watched his eyes though, he was checking every rooftop, every window, every single place a shooter might be sitting.

He was willing to die, but he didn't want to die from a random sniper. Definition of crazy.

It sucks for the entire south (SC especially). For all the negative attention thrown at us, we live more peaceably (white and black people), and in larger numbers, than anywhere else in the country.

Yep. But like slavery it died out a while ago. But by all means, keep up the oppression game.

I've lived in SC my whole life, and I'm pretty torn up about it. For as much crap as SC gets, this is pretty much a live and let live state.

As awesome as Charleston is, North Charleston is a terrible ghetto.

ETA:

I know this because my now-wife, then girlfriend, rented a house there one summer with friends without checking on location. It was in the middle of the worst area of North Charleston. I made them break the lease and move to a good area

I'm pretty disappointed that this guy was caught alive. We now will have to put up with some court appointed lawyers trying to piece together an insanity plea for this guy and pay for a whole trial, appeal, and 20+ years of incarceration.

And that's without even getting into the fact that people will say "hey look a white guy can kill 9 black people and get arrested calmly. But a 14 year old can't go to a pool party without getting faceplanted by a cop." You know it's coming.

Huh? I was referring to the south as a whole (I live in Georgia). And I'm not sure Louisiana would be the obvious leader in that category anyway.

Absolutely. I've assured everyone I can that the South isn't nearly as bad as it is painted out to be, but that all looks like bullshite now.

Reason of insanity...Its an easy call...Unless he gets into a shootout or kills himself........

I'm watching Obama's statement.

I think this thread is about to turn into a poliboard rant fest.

No.

Other than for determining whether the requisite criminal intent is present for the charge, why someone does something is IRRELEVANT for the purposes of determining guilt/innocence.
