What are the rules on funding religious activity with Federal money?
The United States Supreme Court has said that faith-based organizations may not use direct government support to support "inherently religious" activities. Basically, it means you cannot use any part of a direct Federal grant to fund religious worship, instruction, or proselytization. Instead, organizations may use government money only to support the non-religious social services that they provide.

A lot of which is bogus.

But it gives people the excuse they need to be selfish, materialistic, and hedonistic.

Yeah let's ask medieval Europe and the middle east about how well they benefited. The damn Catholic Church nearly conquered all of Europe

Look up an author named Regine Pernoud. Read her book. It won't convince you or change your mind. But at least you'll have some solid historical research that shows you are mistaken.

I'm not surprised. I'm betting top of the list isn't "disagrees with me on the sabbath".

It's not.

I disagree with people like you because you act pretentious on one hand, yet miss all sorts of "rules" on the other.

It's no different than the people who go to 10 am mass and then speed out of the parking lot, cursing at the people who get in their way.

My suggested reasons:

1) Secularization of society/culture (see: Europe)
2) Secularization of churches themselves, whereby many are becoming mere vehicles for social advocacy or life help, leading people to see less utility/purpose in church membership/attendance.
3) Efforts by what I'd deem "real" churches to match the culture rather than provide an alternative to it (ie churches doing real work and doing this in good faith - just a misguided effort IMO.

, I’ve found more faith in science than I do with the church. For the simple fact that the church is as flawed as I am.

Yeah it’s flawed cause their humans. You have faith...in a man-made construct?!

Religion is a man made construct.

I acted pretentious by saying your attitude of staying home and it's fine is clearly not and backed it up? You didn't have to speak up. You chose to come in here and preach your message that the church is corrupt and there's no point in attending. I'm not allowed to rebut?

Perhaps instead of telling everyone else why they're a hypocrite, you could demonstrate the proper conduct of a Christian or at the least a good person?

1) without God there is no justice or definition of good besides our own opinions

2) people who dont stand for something will fall for anything. See the modern radical progressives.

3)Jesus is Lord and Savior and Easter Sunday is the highlight of the Christian calendar. I hope people recognize that this weekend.

And here is part of your answer. Churches are basically political arms these days. They've alienated themselves.

Sure is a lot easier to blame the democrats though.

Not just political arms, but pure, unadulterated embrace of a man who is the absolute antithesis of Christian values.

Yep. This is a new feature where people use large congregations of people to get their message out. Dems have never done that:

Just a whole pile of retarded leftists mad that conservatives use the same tactics they do.

Churches don't typically receive any direct tax dollars.

But here's a list of religious organizations in Alabama that received PPP loans last year that will be forgiven. Whole lot of churches on that list.

SBA

I'm not saying they shouldn't have gotten them. But it is an example of our tax dollars going to churches.
