I did that while I was out of town. It was hell for the first two weeks. I walked slow and hunched over for days. I started back weightlifting, stretching, and as someone on here mentioned Kratom. Mine was in the middle of my lower back down to my hip. As I became more tired, the more pain I felt.
After about 5 years of lifting and stretching the pain went away. I try not to take Ibuprofen or Kratom any more. I'm just very careful. Try to do mid-range weight 5-8 reps, leave some in the tank. I also went on Youtube and started watching Trevor on Smashwerks, he has a ton of videos as well as Kelly Starret. I also use a harness to hold my shoulders back and keep my posture upright. This helps as well.
It will take a while, but you can work through it. If you have a severe injury, that this won't work, then surgery and rehab would be your next option.

The minimal invasive surgery just scared me

That’s a decent Yoda, but it really be more like “Chronic pain, how deal with it you do?”

Ii was on 180 mg. of Morphine a day.She switched me to the Dilaudid before the TKR.
Her Pain Clinic was shut down about 6 months after I left.
My Primary Doctor prescribed me 10 mg. Hydrocodone to get off the Dilaudid. It didn't touch it.I went thru some "Ray Charles like" withdrawals.
Never again.

1. Clean eating. No sugar, low carbs, lots of veggies and water. This has probably helped me more than anything
3. Just be as active as you can, I'm still limited with what I can do but swim, bike, light weights, yoga, walking. Take minimal days off, just something to get the blood and muscles/joints moving. Only taking a day off I can tell a big difference
Doing these to reduce overall inflammation in the body cannot be overstated. It will help.
Hope you get feeling better!

I've lost the weight, that is what the doc told would fix me, it didn't, you can bet I'll try the next thing though
Have you tried anti-anxiety meds? Not a Cure, but seems to help some with the way they experience the pain. TENS helps get some minor relief. CBD/THC inhaler helps some, but YMMV
As others have said, find the best PT you can. I would do whatever to put off surgery for as long as you can. Advice above is great too: eat healthy and move as much as possible.

Amazing what some will prescribe. Before my mother passed docs were prescribing her any and everything.
Anytime I'd go see her and complain about something hurting she'd ask me if I wanted some morphine patches.
If I was a drug head I could have made out like a bandit when we cleaned out her apartment.
Rubbermade totes of morphine, percocets and all other types of pain meds and not little bottles, the big white pharmacy bottles of shite.

Between my shoulders and my back i try to avoid pain pills however if I have to get stuff done I will take them. My shoulders (besides getting both replaced) are kinda beyond surgery to get any relief.

It brings me back to grade school but I recall a passage in “To
kill a mockingbird.”
Where...Scout?, had to go and sit with an old dying woman. And she’d have fits and spit and cuss, and he would read to her I think. She was a morphine addict. Trying to kick it before she died because she “didn’t want to be be beholden to nobody or nothin’”(IIRC)
Something about roses or flowers or something he had ruined and this was his punishment but taught him a lesson.
I watched my aunt wither away. Cancer. A vibrant beautiful vivacious woman. By the end she was just a...creature.
I’d sit with her at times, but I don’t know if it was the pills or the chemo but she just.
Well she died. And I can’t speak for her but if I ever get terminal, I don’t want to go like that. I want to go out with life and verve. Not some withered thing.
Just take me fishing and don’t bring me back

The problem is, I'm still young. I tried CBD, I can't say it helped, and I can't say it hurt. I won't cherish the pain because I'm too young to feel this old, I suppose I should just keep going in for my cortisone shot
You can try epidural steroid injections. Next you can try facet blocks, which may lead to radiofrequency ablation. If those don't work, look to buprenorphine, which doesn't have the addictive effects of most other opiods.

I was in the same situation you're in about 5 years ago. I couldn't stand for more than 30 seconds without have to sit down. Walking was not as bad, but I couldn't walk for more than a few hundred yards without stopping.
I tried PT, steroid injections and pain meds. Nothing worked. I was on the verge of surgery because it was so bad. On a last ditch effort, I went to a chiro. Never believed in that type of treatment and always thought it was a joke.
Well 6 weeks after treatment of 3x's a week there was little to no pain in my lower back. No more radiating pain into my legs. I couldn't believe it.
The chiro explained to me that the dics need to be put back in the right place and with correct treatment, the disc would heal. Well he was right and I'd recommend this treatment before surgery.
Make sure you get the right chiro. There are good and bad to every profession. If you want to know where I sought treatment, just let me know. Hope this helps.
