I had chronic pain as a result of cancer meds & had great improvement with Cymbalta. Swimming and walking also helped.

I have heard mixed things about cymbalta, maybe it's worth a try

Get a Tens unit prescribed by a dr and not one of those cheap things from Walgreens.
It won’t make the pain go away but it makes it bearable.
I highly recommend finding a pain management dr that believes in non-narcotic treatments first.
Go see someone to treat the depression because it will make the pain worse.

If you live in a kratom legal state, many people have found it can really help, start out with a bottle of the vivazen or similiar brands. If that helps you can order the powder and make it into kratom tea much cheaper.

I didn't know they still prescribed those. I have 4 that I bought from Amazon and sometimes they will calm the pain down.

I've had chronic back pain since I was 17. Everyone's back pain is different but this is what has worked for me the most:
1. Clean eating. No sugar, low carbs, lots of veggies and water. This has probably helped me more than anything
2. Something called a radiofrequency ablation. It's like an injection but a needle heats up really hot at the end and burns nerves off the spinal cord. This helped me immensely
3. Just be as active as you can, I'm still limited with what I can do but swim, bike, light weights, yoga, walking. Take minimal days off, just something to get the blood and muscles/joints moving. Only taking a day off I can tell a big difference
I know all of that may sound like a lot, but eating clean and moving your body will help so much

Have you tried improving your posture, both standing and sitting.
My father found some relief from standing straight and not slouching when sitting.
Hope you find some relief.

I guess they don’t prescribe them anymore. Looks like there are some high quality ones on Amazon.
I use mine regularly and it helps.

Just give her your credit card. It's temporary relief but bliss, sweet bliss.

My MIL had a spinal stimulator implanted last year and she's saying her pain level has decreased from 8-9 to 1-2. She's 84.
Edited to add: the device keeps the pain signals from reaching the brain. It doesn't fix the issue causing it.

I know. I was being sarcastic. Honestly, look into getting the noninvasive procedure. I know you are scared but it may be able to actually fix your problem versus treating the symptoms like pills, thc, or some other medicine is doing.
Y’all to a doctor about it and express your fears and concerns. That’s probably the best path forward for you.

I'm not sure whether you're being an a-hole or not, but yes. I have seen numerous doctors and they all prescribe opiates.
Because they fricking work at killing pain. It’s just not a realistic or reasonable long term solution.

These are the ones I have
Like I said, I have 4-5. I keep one in my truck.

Pilates, with proper instruction, will help you and not hurt you. I have 3 ruptured lumbar discs, the others are bulging, and moderate spinal stenosis abounds. Throw in multiple thoracic fractures (old, healed and arthritic), and my back is the proverbial “snake in a lawn mower”.
And Pilates has decreased my pain level , both back and leg pain, greatly. Try it.
And red wine helps, too...

I live with it.
I'm 58 and spent close to a Decade in Pain Management.
I had a Total Knee Replacement on my Rt. Knee in November of 2015.
It really put pain in perspective to me.
If I'm typing this post, and carrying on with y'all, then I can't be in that much pain.
When asked to Rate my pain on the 1-10 Scale,I usually say 2.I sitting there talking to them.I drove to their office.I can't be hurting a whole lot.
I haven't taken any pain meds in almost 3 years.I'm out of the "Blur" and thinking clear.
I thought I may die when I was coming off 24 mg. of Dilaudid, and 60 mg. of MS-Contin a day.
It was worth it to come out the other side.

I've had a herniated L4/L5 for 20 years and know all about back pain, I use Tarpon Interventional Pain & Spine Care.
My Dr tries not to give me pills as a cure but when I get where I can't walk it's the only relief.
I manage mine with exercise/stretching and periodic injections, I haven't needed one in over two years.
