What more was there to that story, pray tell?
How the kid turned out to not be the aggressive white supremacist Nazi the national media accused him of being?

Like the millions in damages?

What constitutional rights of the employees did the students violate?

None. If they were just being polite museum goers who were being targeted for their religious beliefs, then the Smithsonian employees were in the wrong. That would be textbook discrimination.
It would be nice to see some quotes from the Smithsonian regarding the incident.
As we’ve seen so often with the race baiting from other groups, there are times when they are attempting to make it about discrimination when it was really a refusal of service based on something else.

the employees there are pretty useless. The museum is only half open so they have way too many people working and they all just stand around doing jack shite. There was a group of hells angels there at the same time as me oddly enough. They weren’t bothered from what I saw. If what they are saying actually happened, firing the employees should be enough.

Anyone with two brain cells to rub together knows there is more to this story.
You're getting the plaintiff's side here. Highly likely they went there to have something happen and they got what they wanted.

So, just so I have this straight. The government can force a bakery to bake pride cakes but a federal museum can kick you out (refuse service) if you think babies shouldn’t be killed?

But wearing “Rosary pro-life” hats following a pro-life March smells more like an organized stunt

"We apologize that visitors to the National Air and Space Museum were asked to remove their hats on Friday, Jan. 20. A security officer mistakenly told young visitors that their pro-life hats were not permitted in the museum. Asking visitors to remove hats and clothing is not in keeping with our policy or protocols," the museum said in a statement. "We provided immediate retraining to prevent a re-occurrence of this kind of error. "The Smithsonian welcomes all visitors without regard to their beliefs," the statement continues. "We do not deny access to our museums based on the messages on visitors' clothing."
The museum apologized. For the church group to take it any further is likely an attention/money grab. A few employees don’t represent the organization. Walk for Life happens ever year and all of the Smithsonian museums are flooded with participants wearing pro life shite.

Maybe. It’s also very realistic that they were in DC for a rally and decided to go to the world famous museum with the students.

The Covington kids got painted as the a$$ holes originally and turns out there was more to the story. It might be the same case here.

I reckon I was wrong, then.

I don’t want to be misunderstood. Maybe I should rephrase. Wearing pro-life clothing isn’t a stunt at all. Definitely yoursnir anyone’s right.
But the organized event makes me wonder if they were looking for a confrontation to pull a lawsuit from. So the behavior could have been tied to getting kicked out, and not just the clothing.
I could be wrong, but I would want to hear both sides of the story. Seems just a little too simple of an explanation: “we were kicked out because of our hats”.
Edit: looks like the museum apologized for asking them to remove their hats. They were not kicked out for behavior.
So the lawsuit is all about being asked to remove their hats…

Well yea, they're Christians from the South. Experts at causing tension and confrontation with enough of an "out angle" to claim they weren't doing anything.

What's more likely - they were kicked out of the Smithsonian for the messages on their hats or they sought and enticed a confrontation with Smithsonian employees?
