People are freaking nuts to do stuff like this. No way I could even make it to that the ladder. The climb there is bad enough.
I'm deathly afraid of heights. This was freaky crazy.

As long as I’m clipped in I would have no problem with doing it.

I mean you're tied off the whole time.
Would some of y'all seriously not do this?

Think about the guy who installed the ladder.

Not on a Chinese made one
And I hate heights. I see no thrill in climbing something high up. I can avoid falling to death by not climbing up something high

Wouldn’t even watch someone else do this from an enclosed room at ground level.

Same, I have terrible vertigo at heights. If it were on a trail I would be fine, but not anything manmade.

You are until you frick up and don't have the rabbit ears properly placed. I have seen veteran rock climbers frick up rope management hundreds of times.* Add in people not used to heights and rope management, and things definitely can go wrong. Those levels of exposure suck a lot of bandwidth out of a person's brain that isn't comfortable.
* I've done it more times than I would like to admit and would probably never climb again if I actually knew how many times I have cheated death. The ones I do know about are sobering enough.
ETA I should note there are a lot of times if they fell, even if properly secured, it wouldn't be a picnic to get back on the ladder, and there is no option to bail out once you get gripped.

What's Scarier ? The Height of the ladder and the chance you fall? or the fact that the ladder was made in China and you are way up there on it?
Posted on 11/23/25 at 6:04 pm to i am dan
You are strapped, but its China made

My lineman husband has scarier climbs on an average day

Not in China, that’s for sure.

Absolutely not. There is zero chance I’m doing that
