Obviously you have no kids. The moment the nurse put my daughter in my arms was the moment I stopped worrying about anything but making sure she (and soon after, my son) has everything I can possibly give her.
The level of love you feel for your child cannot be explained. That day was the day I stopped trying to gain for myself and started trying to gain for them.
Sure they are a pain in the arse a lot of the time. Sure they are a burden some of the time. Sure my life would be a lot different and more "me" focused without them. My life would also be a lot more lonely. My life would have a lot less direction without them.
Like I tell everyone: Having kids will be the worst and best thing to ever happen to you.
My little girl told me "love you daddy" for the first time the other day. One of the best days of my life.
Having kids isn't for everyone and I don't judge people who don't want kids, so don't come around here with this bullshite.

Thanks LL. That's what I'm aiming to be. Mr Wink and I have had many discussion about what we want our priorities to be and while our kids will of course be very very important to us, ourselves and our relationship come before them.

But if you're as successful and desirable as you suggest, seems like your decision to reproduce would make the average human in the next generation a tiny bit better than it would be if you didn't.

Most families could exist on one. Take smaller vacations, drive late model used cars instead of new, skip dining out a few times a week. But lots of ppl think they'd be doing a disservice to their kids to deprive them off that not realizing it's a bigger disservice to institutionalize them at 12 weeks old.
