I was not a baby kind of guy and I submitted to the pressure to make a child. Without my daughter I don't know where my life would be today...actually, I do know...I'd probably be playing golf and video games all the time but I'd gladly trade that to hear "DAD!" seventy billion times a day in that little voice.
Look, kids are hard work. They require a lot of patience (which I don't always have) and tons of attention (which I can't always give). But she makes me happy and makes my life infinitely more fulfilling than it would be without her in it.

I'm kind of on the fence about this right now.
Then again I have had three personal tragedies in a five month time frame. I'm sure with time ill have that feeling that children are a blessing again.

But it's not just that. If you have a long day of work the next day and need rest, but the child is screaming because their ears hurt, who is more important? That's not an extreme, that's an almost daily occurrence for many parents
I wasn't trying to say you'd be a bad mom, but that your expectations are probably not going to be met. That being said, most people enjoy it

I have kids.
I have plenty of time, I have not stopped working out and I have more money than I need so I do not know what you are complaining about.
Having kids is GREAT! Do it (with a girl you marry and spend the rest of your life with).

Nah, I think you're making a lot of assumptions about me but that's ok. I'm just a screen name. You really don't know my expectations. I don't think you understand the overall principle or philosophy either. It's not about daily occurrences. It's an overall look at things. Like somebody else said in this thread...their needs come first, their wants are a another matter.

There are a lot of very wealthy, physically fit, and happy people in this thread. Some have kids, and some don't. It seems like having kids or not having kids has nothing to do with being happy.

I really wasn't. I thought everything you said until I became a parent. You cannot understand the way your priorities will change once you see that kid. What I was trying to say, not well obviously, is that if your happiness hinges on what you were saying, you will be disappointed.
