Of all the military jobs to get while having a medical condition, a sapper is probably one of the ones you shouldn't push someone into

Milne hated the Pooh character and didn't want to be known as the Pooh kid. After the war, he ended up opening a bookstore and that was his quiet life.

Yes, even in WWII soldiers completed the after action reports which lists all of the details, including confirmed kills, witnesses etc.

Goodbye Christopher Robin was a good movie about the whole story. Not sure how accurate, but I think they thought he died in the war at first but he returned. I guess with communications at the time, it was hard to know who survived that war.
