I would much rather government food stamp money go back to the government than to Walmart shareholders.

Begs the question—why has disinvestment occurred in communities where there is a demand for food?

It's not just neverending demand (hunger) but also neverending supply (agriculture) and heavily subsidized means in the form of food stamps.
Think of what it takes to screw up that! People are always hungry, food is always plentiful and the government heavily subsidizes both ends of the equation in the form of subsidies and welfare programs (food stamps). And grocery stores are still packing up and leaving due to all of the crime and hassles these animals inflict.

The City of Chicago is reimagining the role government can play in our lives
There's so much to unpack in this quote alone
But at then end of this "reimagining" is less freedom, more taxes, and lower quality 100% guaranteed,

Ah yes … cue up the old Soviet style grocery store.
An old friend spent a lot of time in the Soviet Union prior to its collapse. If Russians saw a line into a store, they would get in it even not knowing what was at the other end. They knew that would be something they needed or something that they could trade for something they needed.

That about sums it up.

Let's see how healthy this Government Grocery Store is.

Is this my vision of having food distribution centers in every town which are the only places that food stamp cards are accepted? And only provide staples? No junk food, no sodas, etc
I doubt it.
I doubt it.

Awfully big word salad to describe what will eventually be a taxpayer-funded food bank.
