Y’all are acting like companies never give favorable terms on items to pump out inventory.

For profit companies make “Favorable terms” for profit. It’s relative, it’s marketing, and it sounds it is working.

Feel the ‘good’ deal…Hand them nice profit.

Win-win? They do when you think so.

0% financing ain’t win-win in for profit. Promise.

But ten-speed trans is solid match for the 3.0.

The 10 speed is the biggest POS to come out of Detroit in 25 years. That collaboration between GM and Ford should have produced an amazing transmission but it produced the most incredible piece of crap to hit the road. frick those trannies.

I see GM is offering 0% interest for 5 years on a brand new 1500 model.

Read the fine print. Few will qualify ("for very well qualified buyers").

I wouldnt say its a rip off, but you cant get the 0 percent with the rebates, which on the 3.0 diesel is 3250, up to 4250 if you have a trade that is 2012 or newer. You can combine first responder or military w either the rebate or the 0 percent, but you cant get military and 1st responder. Only one private offer is stackable. It kinda makes it look like you can combine all those 500 offers but you cant.

You like an oil pump being driven by a belt?

What's the knock on a belt honestly? I'm most ignorant here, but belts have been running tons of things in car engines for millions of miles without issues. Belts can be super easy and cheap to replace also, I don't know how easy this one is, but if its easy to replace routinely that should make it extremely reliable?

It’s more prone to breaking than a metal gear which normally drives an oil pump.

I wouldn’t call separating the engine and transmission easy.

The oil pump is driven by a wet belt which is located at the rear of the engine. The transmission can be unbolted from the engine and slid back (or removed) to gain access to the cover, which covers the belt. Not sure of the current maintenance interval, but had saw 150k miles. Several youtube videos showing replacement and estimated cost.

Isn't it also a recommended $20K belt replacement at 150k miles...or something like that? I was looking at used models last year and that started me away.

It take a LOT of force to drive an oil pump; enough to break oil pump driveshafts at times. A cold morning is MUCH worse. I don't like the idea but I'm not gonna buy one anyway.

Thats not securitized like auto loans. They make their money on transactional fees and high interest on people carrying balances. Securitized lending is completely different because you have to warehouse the loans until you have enough to go to a rating agency and securitize. Thats where the ROE and SOFR pegs happen.
