The “Tree-Fiddy” Returns
Chevrolet’s biggest news for the 2027 Silverado is the return of both the 350-cubic-inch (5.7-liter) and 400-cubic-inch (6.6-liter) small-block V-8s. These replace the 5.3- and 6.2-liter Gen V engines from the 2026 model. The last time we saw a 5.7-liter in a full-size Chevrolet was 1999, in the final year of the C/K series, while the 6.6-liter was last seen in the third-generation C/K in 1980. But these aren’t old-school Chevy small-blocks as they are built on the new Gen VI GM small-block V-8 architecture that debuted with the 2027 Corvette.

The new interior philosophy puts a higher priority on seat comfort and materials quality. In addition, larger, more plentiful screens abound in the new Silverado. The center screen is now a 16.3-inch unit on all trims. Last year, the largest screen was 13.4 inches, and a 7-inch touchscreen came standard. A 12.2-inch digital instrument cluster is also standard. This screen includes the gauges and much more. New to the Silverado lineup is the option of a screen for the front passenger. The 11.5-inch screen is standard on the ZR2 and High Country trims. It comes bundled with a head-up display and a rear camera mirror.

Exactly what I was thinking! Damn glad to see the 5.7L is back!

ETA: Since there will be pretty major changes next model year, I wonder if there will be major discounts for the remaining trucks this year?

Interesting they don’t include the steering wheel checking your skin secretions for alcohol to the bullet points.

Ford and GM are really lobbying hard on “right to repair.” If they are successful in forcing vehicle owners to have any and all repairs done at dealerships, I won’t even consider another Ford or GM.

Great! Just bump the price up another $10k more than last year, stretch that loan out to 96 months, and the broke suckers of this country will line up to get them as usual.
