Going through immunotherapy for lung cancer, now. Non-small cell. I got lucky...two tumors and two lymph nodes, one of which was removed. Had chemo and radiation.

The THC edibles helped a LOT, as did the tinctures, at keeping my appetite up. I had absolutely no appetite if I didn't do it.

You HAVE to EAT. Do the protein drinks. I did, nasty as most of them were. If you keep losing weight you will feel worse. I used these prescribed pills that dissolved on the tongue to help with nausea, but you have to eat.

Good luck. I still feel exhausted and weak, and I still fight nausea almost daily. My body has been through the wringer and I'm trying to get my strength back up.

Make peace with doing absolutely NOTHING and read or watch TV. Your body has to rest. Take care of yourself.

Sincerely curious, as though I am 2+ yrs & counting from completing radiation treatment for prostate cancer ( zero side effects ) I am not naive enuff to think Cancer won't come back in some form down the road. Have any of you considered not taking chemo because of all these side effects? One of my radiation techs, with 5 yrs experience, said she would never take chemo.

Wife had surgery, chemo and radiation for 9 months in 2001. Absolutely a crappy treatment process, but. it works. She found sharp flavored foods helped. After every treatment we would go to Hooters for wings and beer. The "young" atmosphere helped along with the wings.

Yeah, the Delta 8 and 9 helps, too. In fact they're a hell of a lot cheaper than the THC products at the weed pharmacies. I still have pain from the biopsy and radiation and I use the Delta 9 gummies when I'm out of the real stuff.

Medicinal all the way. Older brother took Round 5 today and got medicinal marijuana after Round 1. Only way he could eat and have relief

I went through about a year of chemo when I was 23 for lymphoma. Had all the same symptoms. Get a prescription for Zofran to help with nausea. With respect to the changes in taste and tiredness, there’s not much you can do about this. As you progress through your chemo cycles, you’ll get pretty tired. Try to eat high(er) protein diet and minimize sugar. Make sure your food is fully cooked so bacteria doesn’t get you sick as your immune system gets whacked down the line. Keep tabs on your blood counts from CBC. If they get too low, blood transfusions really help to give you some energy back. Best of luck with your treatments! You will beat this!

No, I actually had small intestine cancer, just on other side on pancreas. No symptoms, just routine blood work didn’t look right and they eventually found out why. I was very lucky. The whipple sucked, one of the worst surgeries you can have. Took out half my intestines, half stomach, part of pancreas, gall bladder, then put it all back together somehow.
You’ll get through this

The fact that marijuana is still a schedule 1 drug is proof that we can’t trust our government.

Really should’ve gotten a few other opinions before starting the treatments. Good luck, I assume the doctor is following proven protocols.

The first 6 weeks is shite. Just hang in there - be ready to be tired all the time. But - it does get. better.

I went thru this a dozen years ago. Have never got back to my original condition, but the day-to-day misery lasted less than 6 months.

Stay positive. Keep you mind on wholesome stuff. Refuse to give in. Make your family think you are worth the trouble.

Good luck

Everyone handles things differently.
Me, I wanted to be left alone, do my time and not talk about it.
There is an end date and you’ll feel shitty, but that last day, a weight will be lifted and you’ll feel 1000 times better.

You can do this

Had head and neck cancer in 2015, chemo and radiation, nausea was terrible each doc blamed the others treatment. Dr Bienvenu would prescribe a new med every week until we found one that worked. In the end I was on 3 nausea meds, vape THC and even acupuncture, I did get rid of the nausea but don’t know which helped most or if it the combination of all. As far as eating load all the calories and fat you can into a dish, make shakes out of boost, mashed potatoes with cheese butter sour cream and as much butter as you can stand, in the end I had to have a feeding tube to keep my weight up. Trust me you don’t want to get to that point, so choke down. Anything you can

Brother, you just have to walk through it.
I don’t mean “just” as in easy, I mean one foot in front of the other.
Be patient with yourself and the process. My doctor’s advice, “You can’t get to C until you’ve done A and B”

But asking another doctor’s advice is a good call.
