There are a lot of people in this world that I don't agree with, but I wouldn't wish cancer on anyone.

I don't know that need was the correct word. Want seems to be more fitting.

2 before you are out of high school is a bit much, she wasn't raped, just didn't use protection or care.

I understand accidents happen, but that doesn't sound like the case here.

A lot of abortions save the child from the mother. As awful as it sounds, we don't have anywhere to put these children when they're born to 16-year-old idiot mothers like Chelsea Handler. In 2012, there were 700,000 abortions. Who's going to pay for the babies, and who's going to take care of them?

That being said, I'm not a proponent of abortions, and I think we should do everything in our power to decrease the shockingly large number of them.

This is the reality of the situation. The world's population is already growing out of control. If it wasn't for the discovery of antibiotics a lot less people would be born. Teenagers are stupid and make stupid mistakes. If the 16 yr old mother lives in poverty, has no one to support her (not just financially, but emotionally as well), etc.. What kind of life can she provide for a child? A child born into poverty who has a mother who doesn't really know how to be a real parent, will likely become a product of its environment.

What if a mother decided to not go through with an abortion and 20 years later that baby becomes an adult who goes on a shooting spree killing 20+ people? I understand that is a lot of "what if" and I don't really consider myself a "pro-life" or "pro-choice" I just think sometimes in life we have to deal with necessary evils.

By that same logic, why don't we euthanize poor kids who don't have a promising future ahead of them?

holding 16 year olds accountable for their actions is expecting a bit much. 16 year old sluts are of a kind like no other.

I'll make sure to mark that down in my log, Chad504boy speaks on behalf of all pregnant 16 year old girls.

But, assuming what you can't possibly know for a fact is a fact, tie that into 2 pregnancies and 2 abortions within a year's time.

There are two arguments to be had about abortions. One is the moral argument and the other is the economical argument.

The OT rails against undesirables but is against the thing that causes fewer undesirables to be born.

Adoptive parents can. Make adoptions easier/cheaper for couples. Unless you go the foster parent route and try to adopt a child in foster care...you are looking at at LEAST 20k out of pocket. Money for something that isn't guaranteed. The bio mom or family changes their mind at the last minute...it's not like you get a refund on that.

If adoption wasn't going to cost me 20-50K of money that I currently don't have....I would gladly adopt the baby of a scared 16 year old that was just trying to act like an adult by having sex.

What I love is how majority on the posters in this thread are very anti abortion, but are also very anit welfare. And would complain about woman on welfare having too many children. Make up your minds. Which is it going to be?

Is contraception not an option?

No it's not. I'm not blaming the 16 year old. That's totally normal behavior at that age. I was 16 one time too and was having sex then. I remember what it's like to be 16. You don't want to be a child anymore...you want to be an adult. Act like an adult. Have fun like an adult. You just don't have the matured mind of an adult yet.

Mistakes seem like the end of the world at that age. Like you will never recover from them. I remember that feeling. Even though I'm very much against abortion myself, I'm not gonna fault a parent choosing that option for their teenager. I was just pointing out that there is another option as well. One that allows the teenager to not be forever changed by just being a teenager....and allows their child to have a good life as well.

How so?

16 year olds will always have sex.

we should be raining birth control in our high schools.

There are much more effective ways to prevent the birth of "undesirables", and even if there weren't, isn't it plausible that there are different levels of disdain? For instance, can I not dislike killing babies MORE than I dislike welfare? It isn't either/or.

Exactly.

Most people don't want to hear it because it's such an emotional subject, but there is a direct proportion to crime rate going down as abortions go up. If youre they type of person that is/will consider getting an abortion, there is an extremely high probability that you'll be a horrible parent to begin with. A lot of people have no business having kids. It doesn't help that the lower class is incentivized to have as many as possible.
